Stealthbomber
That's incredibly well done. I don't think it's actually a proper painting. I reckon it's been composed digitally. The older historical characters (Shakespeare, DaVinci, Galileo etc) seem to have been grafted in as you'd expect. Some of the modern characters (Putin, Sharon, Arafat, Saddam) seem to have have photographic heads grafted onto their bodies after being put through an oil-paint photoshop filter. Meanwhile, several of the other modern characters (Queen Liz, Prince Charles, Hitler, Hepburn) have obviously been painted and their likeness isn't very good at all. I wonder if it's a revised edition of the painting with some newer faces (the photo-realistic ones) pasted over the original ones? Just seems a bit odd the way most of the people (modern and historic) have bodies that match their heads while others (Arafat and Putin for example) don't. I dunno much about art. Is there an original painting out there somewhere that shows hundreds of characters like this? I'm guessing that somebody's cut & pasted a huge pile of bodies into that painting then pasted the heads onto them as well. If you look carefully it seems like some of the characters fit naturally into the montage but others are fairly blatantly pasted in. Anyway, I'm gonna start marking this up later. Flakdragon
Most of them actually seem pretty natural, especially since most famous pictures I've seen are very much like this one.
Chris North
Man, I should probably hit the books or something. I only recognize 15 or so people in that painting... Who's the guy in the tuxedo, third person to the left of Napoleon (at least I think), and the boxer in the bottom left?

(A phrase which has too meanings, one nicent, the other possably rather suspect, favoured by the carry on series) No! Geez, you guys have a one-track mind. Bill Clinton was famous for playing the saxaphone. When he first got voted in there was a huge concert and he played on stage with U2 or somebody similar. That's totally different from Monica Lewinsky getting his saxaphone out. There. I've said it. Are you happy now???
