blackopssniper92
I got my flux hoddie. yesterday. the thing is cool. I was surpised to see how thin the thing was. I was thinking that this thing would not be warm at all. I went outside this morning when it was like 50 and i was almost instally warm this thing is great. I highly recommed tad. now I need to save up for a stealth jacket. only thing i don't like is the ME green and i was expecting it to be more od green than it is. It is almost a acu green but not quit that bad. but don't let the color discaurge you form getting it.
K12azy13astard
Its more Ranger green than OD. But yea, awesome jackets. I'm looking forward to the game at Fort Ord to sport the Ranger hoodie. Should be nice and warm for Coastal action.
Reincarnation...
I think a few of us should come together, and move around from forum to forum promoting TAD gear and representing TAD gear at games (countless asking about my Stealth Hoodie). In part TAD gear give us free stuff. Agreed? :D
K12azy13astard
+1. I'll toss the idea to pat.
Bada Bing
I think a few of us should come together, and move around from forum to forum promoting TAD gear and representing TAD gear at games (countless asking about my Stealth Hoodie). In part TAD gear give us free stuff. Agreed? :D Im up for that! Just got my mitts on a TAD explorer softshell, all i can say is wow! I've been told with this level of gucci gear, women would become completely captivated and feel nothing but pure lust over the person wearing it. Its like the Lynx effect but in Military operator gear

In part TAD gear give us free stuff. Agreed? +1 I would be up for that. The more I wear my flux hoodie the more I want a stealth jacket v4.0. Has any tried to contact tad befor? I am trying to reach them because I want 2 3x3'' velcrow squares that I can get sew on to the sleeves of my flux hoodie. I sent an email a few days ago but no reply yet. I am just wounding if they are just snobs or did i type in the wrong email address?
K12azy13astard
Give them a call...they'll pick up and such. Also, you need to remember that they're running a large business with a small amount of people. It'll take some time to get to your email.
[BS]_MARS
Dude, TAD doesn't want to deal with a market full of people rooting for Chinese companies to clone their stuff. They could be selling to people who actually need the stuff, like the military.
Chimpy
Isn't that just the word of mouth advertising they get anyway. Has anyone seen the copy soft-shells... they are incredibly crappy and by all accounts not terribly breathable (although that is via second hand account).
blackopssniper92
copy soft-shells? do you mean soft-shell replicas?
K12azy13astard
Actualy, thats not the issue. With any business, it's money orientated. About a hour ago (just got home from San Francisco for a TAD run) and had a talk with Patrick, the owner of TAD Gear. I asked if TAD does sponcerships: "Unfortunatly not. We have done it in the past, doing very small groups and have found that we can't do it due to money and that it doesn't do much for business. " - Patrick. Bty, he did hook me up with several previews of prototype items that should be coming down the pike Q1 of 2009! I'll be pointing pictures soon, but heres a sneek peak. Please forgive the quality, I had my Iphone on me. (still good quality imo) TAD Gear Escort Bag - Able to hold up to 15.4" laptops - Removeable sleeve that can fit 13" laptops or the new 15" Macbook pro. - Hide-Away area for magazines or a back-up pistol with extra mags - MOLLE/PAL attach points on the back and sides - Flash-light cave - Colors: Tan, Multicam, Black, Foliage Green, OD - Price TBA Picts! See, it did happen! EDIT: Will post on a empty one. The forums only allow a limited amount per post. See below) Redesigned TAD Gear Ranger Hoodie -Much like the Old one, but includes larger arm and chest pockets. Relocated D-rings as well - Cordura "padding" from the elbow down. So far only saw it in Ranger Green, but I'm sure there are other colors Price is TBA Repeat, yes. But a good shot of the new padding New Flecktarn-D Cargo 10 pants Same design, but with the addition of stronger rip-stop and corded bottoms to turn into shorts if desired. Patrick and team wore then in Germany for 6 days, and said they were awesome. All I can say is they LOOK awesome. I've been told to expect that patern, as well as the M85 and M85 Desert patterns. Release date and price is to be determined, they're still in neogiations with the manufactuer. Kraut
These are for sure set for Q1 09? That'd be awesome! Looking through all the products they have, I'm at a loss. I'm really looking for a top (soft/hardshell) with certain qualities. Can anyone help me out? I want something: - Wind resistant/proof (important) - Water resistant - Warm (< 40 F) - Durable (outer garment, skirmish capable) - Brown/tan in color - Hood not important - Good for casual outdoor use, including outdoor activities (backpacking, mostly) - Frontal zip - Comfortable to wear long periods of time - Easy to clean Hopefully when 09 rolls around, they can up their inventory. K12azy13astard
Anything Merino line is a good move. Pairing it with a hardshell will be even better. TAD also has their Merino undergarment line on sale...so you're bound to get a good deal there when it comes to below 40 gear. And yes, for sure Q1 2009. They're also releasing some new product mid-November. For those in San Francisco Bay Area. TAD Gear will be out during the Third Street Fair, selling and showing off gear. There will be one-off and speciality items for ridicously cheap!
Reincarnation...
I hate you Josh ;I wished I lived closer to TAD. Shoot I'll promote TAD anyways as an owner as most customer will anyways
Azulsky
I am looking forward to the Combat Photographers Pack that they have hinted at on there web site. I really hope it can hold a full size SLR and a few lenses of various sizes.
Chimpy
K12azy13astard - Cheers for that. Now go back and find out about the new soft-shells. The addition on the cordura reinforcement on the forearms of the Ranger Hoodie is a great idea. If they extend that to the soft-shells ala the old style SORD jackets I'd actually buy one for crawling around in the mud.
K12azy13astard
Thanks man, Patrick is a awesome guy along with the rest of the staff. He likes to give tibbits to customers who really enjoy their work and So do we when it comes to it. Recently, TAD has just equiped some Special Forces guys with TAD Gear Force 10 BDUs, in (get this) Multicam. The reason why I deduce this, is that They (the SF guys) have complained that Crye is charging too much, and are so little in terms of stock to fully prepare the guys when they need gear. TAD stepped up, producing a superior product at less cost. I guess now we should start getting TAD BDUs to start a new craze
Chimpy
Cool, I already own a pair of their Force 10 Legionnaire trousers and they are pretty awesome. Just dropped another order in for the normal Force 10s in Tan Rip-Stop and the knee inserts along with a few other goodies.
tom lawson
Sorry to ask what could be a bone question; I have read through the thread but not continuously.. What is shipping to the UK like from TAD themselves? Is it best to get gear directly from them or to find someone to ship it to you..? Cheers, Tom
Chimpy
I'm pretty sure it's at cost and they will ship stuff via USPS so it is nice and cheap.
