I got my flux hoddie. yesterday. the thing is cool. I was surpised to see how thin the thing was. I was thinking that this thing would not be warm at all. I went outside this morning when it was like 50 and i was almost instally warm this thing is great. I highly recommed tad. now I need to save up for a stealth jacket. only thing i don't like is the ME green and i was expecting it to be more od green than it is. It is almost a acu green but not quit that bad. but don't let the color discaurge you form getting it.

I think a few of us should come together, and move around from forum to forum promoting TAD gear and representing TAD gear at games (countless asking about my Stealth Hoodie). In part TAD gear give us free stuff. Agreed? :D :D :D

Im up for that!

Just got my mitts on a TAD explorer softshell, all i can say is wow! I've been told with this level of gucci gear, women would become completely captivated and feel nothing but pure lust over the person wearing it. Its like the Lynx effect but in Military operator gear

+1 I would be up for that. The more I wear my flux hoodie the more I want a stealth jacket v4.0.

Has any tried to contact tad befor? I am trying to reach them because I want 2 3x3'' velcrow squares that I can get sew on to the sleeves of my flux hoodie. I sent an email a few days ago but no reply yet. I am just wounding if they are just snobs or did i type in the wrong email address?

Actualy, thats not the issue. With any business, it's money orientated. About a hour ago (just got home from San Francisco for a TAD run) and had a talk with Patrick, the owner of TAD Gear. I asked if TAD does sponcerships:

"Unfortunatly not. We have done it in the past, doing very small groups and have found that we can't do it due to money and that it doesn't do much for business. " - Patrick.

Bty, he did hook me up with several previews of prototype items that should be coming down the pike Q1 of 2009! I'll be pointing pictures soon, but heres a sneek peak. Please forgive the quality, I had my Iphone on me. (still good quality imo)

Redesigned TAD Gear Ranger Hoodie

Repeat, yes. But a good shot of the new padding

New Flecktarn-D Cargo 10 pants

Same design, but with the addition of stronger rip-stop and corded bottoms to turn into shorts if desired.

Patrick and team wore then in Germany for 6 days, and said they were awesome. All I can say is they LOOK awesome. I've been told to expect that patern, as well as the M85 and M85 Desert patterns. Release date and price is to be determined, they're still in neogiations with the manufactuer.

These are for sure set for Q1 09? That'd be awesome!

Looking through all the products they have, I'm at a loss. I'm really looking for a top (soft/hardshell) with certain qualities. Can anyone help me out?

I want something:

- Wind resistant/proof (important)

- Water resistant

- Warm (< 40 F)

- Durable (outer garment, skirmish capable)

- Brown/tan in color

- Hood not important

- Good for casual outdoor use, including outdoor activities (backpacking, mostly)

- Frontal zip

- Comfortable to wear long periods of time

- Easy to clean

Hopefully when 09 rolls around, they can up their inventory.

Anything Merino line is a good move. Pairing it with a hardshell will be even better. TAD also has their Merino undergarment line on sale...so you're bound to get a good deal there when it comes to below 40 gear.

And yes, for sure Q1 2009. They're also releasing some new product mid-November.

For those in San Francisco Bay Area. TAD Gear will be out during the Third Street Fair, selling and showing off gear. There will be one-off and speciality items for ridicously cheap!

K12azy13astard - Cheers for that. Now go back and find out about the new soft-shells. ;)

The addition on the cordura reinforcement on the forearms of the Ranger Hoodie is a great idea. If they extend that to the soft-shells ala the old style SORD jackets I'd actually buy one for crawling around in the mud. :)

Thanks man, Patrick is a awesome guy along with the rest of the staff. He likes to give tibbits to customers who really enjoy their work and So do we when it comes to it.

Recently, TAD has just equiped some Special Forces guys with TAD Gear Force 10 BDUs, in (get this) Multicam. The reason why I deduce this, is that They (the SF guys) have complained that Crye is charging too much, and are so little in terms of stock to fully prepare the guys when they need gear. TAD stepped up, producing a superior product at less cost. I guess now we should start getting TAD BDUs to start a new craze
