Operator12
Wow, I was genuinely surprised when I saw what you turned out. Could you do bodykits for other types of optics?
DrKalinka
I might be interested in one of these as well... Depends if i can get my hand on a second hand Trijicon or Meprolight though.
ndfirespider
Please add me to the list for 2 of these.
-Angel-
Any update renegade? Still interested!
renegadecow
Yeah, sorry about that. My friend who's made the mold is still in college so he doesn't have much free time on his hands. Should be able to make test casts and possibly a first batch within the coming holiday break. Docv400
Great job. To get that good a finish without machine tools is fantastic! Why is the replica sight so damn expensive (or is it because there is no replica yet)?
renegadecow
No replicas for the Meprolight M21 exist. But for a mil-spec optic, it's pretty fairly priced about the same as an EOTech except it doesn't use batteries. I think it's the tritium inside that makes it pricey. Docv400
Tritium isn't expensive, look at those little keyfobs or fishing bite indicators you can buy that use it, they're only a few Dollars. You'd still need some sort of powered illumination though, Tritium doesn't give off enough light for daytime use.
Hristo
Mepro 21 owner here, I'd still be interested in this product for airsoft, as I don't like the risk of BB shattering the glass. A shattered replica I can live with .
renegadecow
Daytime's no problem with the M21 as it uses light accumulating fiber optics (it's coiled around the white shroud part and that transparent gray panel up front). But then that's not very expensive either. I'm guessing there's a whole lot of tritium inside to illuminate the fiber optics at night instead of being projected as a separate dot. Like the Trijocon reflex, it's always on and there's no transition between light or dark modes. Mepro 21 owner here Glad you came in as I've nobody to ask this to. What's the main body made of? I've seen several M21's in IDF photos with the area that holds the white part broken off (but still works) but the broken area appeared black instead of silver which would indicate some sort of metal.
