Tritium isn't expensive, look at those little keyfobs or fishing bite indicators you can buy that use it, they're only a few Dollars.

You'd still need some sort of powered illumination though, Tritium doesn't give off enough light for daytime use.

Daytime's no problem with the M21 as it uses light accumulating fiber optics (it's coiled around the white shroud part and that transparent gray panel up front). But then that's not very expensive either. I'm guessing there's a whole lot of tritium inside to illuminate the fiber optics at night instead of being projected as a separate dot. Like the Trijocon reflex, it's always on and there's no transition between light or dark modes.

Glad you came in as I've nobody to ask this to.

What's the main body made of? I've seen several M21's in IDF photos with the area that holds the white part broken off (but still works) but the broken area appeared black instead of silver which would indicate some sort of metal.
