letterbomb
Hi peps, I know quite alot of arnies are of the younger generation like myself so was wondering if anyone else was kacking themselves with all the pressure from GCSE's? Especially with the english literature exam being tomorrow morning. My mums head of english at her school (she teaches at a different one) and I dont want to disappoint. I've read all of the anthology poems and Lord Of The Flies to death. Also I need to get a good B in maths if i want to get into Warwickshire College rather then just going to my schools 6th form. Cheers.
rhino
Ahhhhh... GCSE's. Funny really, as i've been left school for over 13 years now and i STILL don't know what grades i got (they were lost in the post at the time)

Hardcore_Mitsuko
Best advice I can give is stop kacking it, whatever you do. Panic will get you nowhere, so relax and just do the revision without getting stressed about it.

gazchap
Once you leave school and get into college/university/the workplace you'll soon start to realise that GCSE results mean sweet F.A. these days. So relax
rhino
That's true. When i used to take my ROA years ago, nobody ever glanced at it. It was a case of "Can you lift this heavy box?" Lifts heavy box "That's all we need to know. You've got the job" *Sigh* good ol' days....
28Dan28
Im not worried about them at all as in my mocks I did pretty well and that was with hardly any revision, this time ive done abit more.
blanksight
hoo hoo hay hay gcses.... a year gone already.... we spent so much time doing practise exams that during the actual thing i felt no pressure. you realise that everything is stuff you've been doing for 2 years. nothing to worry bout really. Hardcore_Mitsuko
Easier said then done, maybe if I had loads of revision videos, that would be great. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not really. I've sat 7 Standard Grades, 5 Highers, 2 Advanced Highers, 6 first year Uni exams and I'm about to sit my 6th Second year Uni exam. I know what of I speak Also, as Gazchap says, when you get this far you'll realise that it's nothing to worry about. It may seem daunting because it's your first set of 'big' exams but trust me, the less you stress about them the easier they are.
coops45
english lit tommorow and then RS on wednesday! it just gets worse. Anyway when there over and done with well have a nice long summer to relax and airsoft over!
blanksight
but then you're an old hand hardcore. if you're just sitting your first major exams you don't know how it is easier taken rationally . he'll realise it's not the scary thing he seems to think it is when he is done. project_jam
i'm going in on a B so hopefully i'll be ok if not... bribe Anthology is so depressing though half of its about scuicide the other is about murder i think the UK is trying to wipe out emo's JAM

They also tended to make the mock exams harder than the finals for the same reason.
Carrion
AHHHH thats why arnies is so empty at the moment. seriously guys just chill and do as wella s you can., revision is no way to make up on 2 years of mucking around instead of working for it as my uni mates are discovering if you screw up you can do them again at college on the government, so no pressure
gazchap
Oh, and apparently the exams board have buggered up (again) and forgotten to send out a vital bit of the Humanities exam to schools, so you may be able to get away with not doing that one for a while
WeirdoTransvestite
Hardcore, I completely agree. Relaxation before any exam is just as important, if not more so, than studying. What good is studying if your mind blanks out from stress? Listen to calming music, take deep breaths, think happy thoughts, whatever it takes, just relax.
blanksight
i fell asleep in most of my exams and spent the others doodling. they were abit ###### easy
