Cons
i still have one of the origonal RDS, got it when it first came out. in a way ists a shame that they re-released it cos i liked havin a *rare* item. but its great for all those who have been stuck with the sewage colourd TR. Lance Jackass
Just a thought. With the p90 RDS, surely if you get the RDS shot out, thats it knackered, as opposed to the TR, where you buy a new sight. So why not buy the TR?
Cons
well with the new RDS that one of the things that Mauri improved the glass on the RDS is now stronger than before. and i allways thought that it would be fairly easy to just cut and fit a new piece of glass if it were to get shot out. FPBBrandon
You would think, but it isnt. My friend's got shot out recently, and he investigated replacing the lens with no luck.
Harmless
You mean the lens was shot out of the new P90! Any idea what FPS he was shot by?
FPBBrandon
I meant cutting a new piece of glass. Not sure if my friend's was new or old version, but weve investigated a bunch of avenues of replacing the lens, and its getting more difficult with everything we look at. MikeG
Yeah, I'm the friend he's talking about. The thing is, not just any glass will work. It has to be specially coated to reflect the red light from the LED.
Stealthbomber
Buy yourself a market stall springer which comes with a WORKING RDS. That'll supply you with a lump of the right sort of glass. I just bought 3 springer pistols for $5 each (to provide a pistol and spare mags for a springer game) and it's left me with 3 cheap lasers and 3 cheap-but-functional RDS scopes. If you were in the UK I'd smash one up and send you the lens for free.
ColDaz
So they have only changed in that there is a stronger piece of glass? Internal upgrades?
jaeger0416
Why the RD over the TR? Mostly looks and functionality - with the RD you get ironsights. And it looks a hell of a lot better. I do agree that it would be nice if the lens were stronger or replaceable.
sekiryu
Hell, if it breaks just buy a real deal or get a rail to mount in its place. That way you get to keep the iron sights, but have the option for optics like the TR.
curlyboy
Well i have just got mine and the lens on the RDS looks to be a lot stronger than the old one and is fitted a little better. I used to own a TR and got this because of the red dot and i am glad i did as it looks cooler and i far more functional than the TR, the only niggle i have so far i you cannot unscrew the flash hider to put a silencer on it which is a bit stupid as the TR has this as an option. curlyboy
Hvy gear
Thats what i thought a first, but no. There is a very small grub screw under the flash hider, it's needs to be loosened before you can remove the flash hider. Odd how marui didn't include the correct size allen key, as IIRC they did with the TR version. It requires a very very small allen key.
DirtyMoFo
same with the G36C by TM, they dont provide an allen key with that either, i guess they supply it with the TR cause it comes with a silencer so most people are expected to change between i guess
sekiryu
Ditto with the AUG. Oddly their Type 89 flash hider doesn't have a screw holding it in place.
antz
Has anyone done a review yet?
MikeG
Really, it will probably be 99% the same as the older RDS. The biggest visible difference is the packaging.
curlyboy
Luckily i had a brief chance on Sunday to compare my new RDS with an old one and to be honest the only real differance is the optics on the new one seem a bit more solid except for that it is the same. curlyboy

Harmless
Went to a skirmish yesterday with my new P90 RDS, exactly the same as my TR, just a bit neater with the integrated RDS, FPS 275-280 stock. However sights are not zeroed, so a centre mass burst went kinda below the belt, if you take my meaning.
