ProTip: Loctite threadlocker + Motor = Broken gun >_<
- Show previous comments 1 more

The Magpul PDR's gearbox is attached to the receiver by four screws, and the screwholes at the back open directly to the motor cage. A "little" too much loctite and poof! Broken xD. Took hours to clean it all out!
-
Ah. I see. What a pain.
-
Unlucky
-
Fixed the trigger mech on my PDR-C last night! All it took was 31mm of spring-steel strip and some bending
-
Holy ****, avoid WE/Nuprol BBs!

Ah, the old "Glue-BBs" right? >_<
-
It's refreshing to see someone not completely arselicking Nuprol.
-
Glad someone said it.

Reading on the Chrono; 499.5... Muahahahahahahahah!

What is it?
-
G&P M.k.12 Mod.1 DMR with BTC Chimera, custom motor etc...

Waiting on an M3 and a full paintjob; http://i.imgur.com/DsS1WaP.jpg

Turns out, a G&P SPR is a better choice than a DBoys SPR. Funny that...

Astonishing, I know!
-
I feel like I'm missing something here.
-
PC Dre's been wanting a new/working DMR-rifle for a while now, we were considering getting a DBoys SPR and gutting it to be cheap, but I persuaded him to splash a bit'o'cash and get a G&P instead.
-
Friend might be buying a D-Boys gun!

There must be some reasoning to this?
-
I'm going to gut the internals completely and use only the externals, which are going to get sprayed! Nothing can go wrong!
-
Oh damn, it's gone wrong already. It's out of stock, likely never to return.
-
If anyone asks you to do a trigger job on their KSC USP, do the smart thing; SAY NO!

I have come to find that Automotive RTV/Gasket Sealant is the curative of choice, I expect two part epoxy might not give great results and it's damned permanent. The SP2022's magazines seem to be cooperating nicely so far...
-
Well, they're sealed with black RTV silicone - and that took a couple of tries - so let's see how they hold up!
-
RTV silicone works. But given enough time the silicone oil in green gas eats it away. I prefer latex based sealants myself as they last well near forever.

Several hours of incorrect wiring diagrams and poring over datasheets later, I present this!!! http://i.imgur.com/OgzBR5Z.jpg

From the looks of it he hacked his radio.
-
Ah, yes I see now. That's pretty good dude. I hate soldering 3.5mm jack sockets, which is why I've not put one on my ammo can speaker box yet. I'm ashamed to say it, but I'm running the aux cable out of the bass port.
-
I don't blame you in the slightest, it's a pain in the *albatross*. The wires are ridiculously fragile and getting the enamel-insulation off is extremely frustrating (my method; Blowtorch + Acidic flux + Lead solder)

Chinese stuff not properly made? SHOCKING!!!

But it's full metal!

Squeezed from the bumhole of Hephaestus himself.

"Kenwood Ver." PTTs not working with Kenwood-type radios because the connector hasn't been moulded even slightly properly. ¬_¬

A useful aphorism; Not all threadlocker is Loctite, and not all Loctite is threadlocker *facepalm*

Quite irrevocably, I suspect!
-
Nah, superglue's pretty brittle - as long as the screw or whatever's not super weak you can usually free it with sharp application of force. Failing that, it softens above 150 Celsius or on the application of acetone
-
Yes, that's true, but the intended application in this case is a pair of prescription eyeglasses, so I'd be somewhat adversed to those options

Product Advisory Notice - FMK P226's will not function correctly when assembled by monkeys and/or filled with sand!
-
Less promising, but still holding out hope!
-
Oh not to worry, it's working like the proverbial champ now, even if it did need an every-part-teardown to get there
-
Excellent. I am also now in possession of a spare bolt handle and another magazine for the G96, so it's full speed ahead on the airsoft front...

-
Ooooh, look what I have here, a full set of Prometheus etc. Recoil Shock M4 parts... what fun!

A vintage project - mine, in fact!
-
Vintage project indeed. What is it, two years in the making PureSilver?
-
I'm trying not to think about it!
-
I have completed a project I've wanted to do for MONTHS now - turn a 3-mode "tactical" torch I bought into a single-mode torch. Good old "desk engineering"
-
Ah-hah! If you're engineering again, do you mind doing some work on the P226's new nozzle? Or building the SOPMOD's gearbox?
-
Ah, when I said desk engineering, I meant less "building the Mark 42 Battlesuit" and more "clodging together a steel mostrosity in a cave, with a box of scraps" drop me an email and we'll talk though.

OP1 is much much much better, I agree. While more Mikasa would be nice, I think there's a critical lack of Sasha Blouse. You can never have too much Sasha Blouse.
-
Comedy relief never looked so good haha Also, what kind of witchcraft is used to make TM SOPMODs? I'm a layman when it comes to these things, but the EG1000 motor doesn't seem especially torquey (magnets aren't as strong as the other motors I've got, at least) but the trigger response is fairly snappy!! The fps clocked in well under 300 fps (230ish on .25gs) but the range is comparable to 300fps++ Rifles! O____O
-
The EG1000 is actually quite a torquey motor (22TPA) for a ferrous-magnet motor. As for the sum of performance, as far as my Japan contacts tell me, TM guns are actually liberally sprinkled with ground-up unicorn-horn and Faerie-dust at the factory resulting in their impressive performance, but it all blows out/away when you open the gearbox :'(

Aaaaaaargh! the Och-yon-Weeatch-beastie has returned! run for your wives! run for your Wives!
