This isn't a troll.

Trolls are usually pretty moronic and wouldn't come up with a story like this just to troll around.

They'd say something stupid and pointless(*ahem* anyone remember uncle sam?)

Your situation sounds pretty bad. But your friends had to be near a road when it happened or else it's doubtful they would have found you(or maybe you didn't thoroughly clear it with the all the rangers who then called the cops on you).

You need to have a long talk with your friend when or if they get back from jail to NOT play in a public place, period, unless they have made it absolutley clear with EVERYONE that its ok to play there. Even then, it's not encouraged.

The you need to have a talk with the guy you has a grudge against one of your friends...sounds like your friend really ticked him off.

Razer has already stated that the trespass is unlikely, and I agree.

It will be more to do with being in possession of a replica firearm in what is deemed a public place.

Antagon, this is not the US, most of the public here are very anti gun indeed and our laws are VERY strict.

To make this quite plain......

You ARE NOT allowed to carry or use an air weapon / replica firearm in ANY public place!!.

If I can gen you in on something.

Most local papers have a Crime Reporter. Every morning they ring up their local nick and find out what interesting arrests happened over night. I would suggest that IF this is ture it would be an easy story...

........ :(

I would suggest that when anyone decides to become involved in this sport / hobby, that they have a good read up on the laws applicable to the guns first.

And what about the parents in all this, did they know what thier kids were doing?

I'll abstain on whether it's true or not for the time being, but it is believable.

I had a friend who was similarly grassed on by an idiot - anonymous phonecall to the police of a person seen with guns in his car in a Little Chef carpark. The Little Chef is near the entrance to the site we'd been playing at that day. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he was followed from Halkyn to Rhyl where he dropped someone off, then back onto the A55 towards Conwy and at some point along there he was forced off the road by 3 marked police people carriers, dragged from the car by 4 ARU officers and cuffed lying in the road whilst they searched his van. Then off down the nick for several hours of questioning.

Total police presence for a very dubious tip off (and they knew the site was there as the ARU had been there before!):

Helicopter + 3 marked people carriers + several more traffic cars blocking the road + ARU + weapons specialist to identify the guns as toys + god knows how much more resource.

The police eventually found out the identity of the anonymous caller, but won't bring any charges because it'd be too expensive to prove the case.

So, the seemingly over the top response reported by Wildchild isn't really surprising. Guns cause alot of fear over here.

I don't think this is an OTT response from the police at all. Would you prefer this scenario?

Caller: Hello, police? I've just seen half a dozen people in full combat gear with military weapons.

Police: Hmm, best send PC Higginbottom to check that, just as soon as he's finished his lunch.

I WANT the police to send armed men out to deal with firearms incidents.

:zorro:

Sledge, sorry I worded that oddly - by "seemingly OTT" I meant that the way people weren't believing Wildchild's story because it sounded like an OTT response may not be correct. I'm not surprised at all by the police response, they have to take such things seriously.

I'm with you on this one, I want the ARU to deal with these reports. I have no objection to my friend getting pulled by them, (although I do have an objection to them not being able to get him out of the car without cracking his head open on the road, they should be better than that).

I am however a bit worried that suddenly Wildchild is more interested in a quick sale than his mates. I'll put that down to shock for the time being.

Smeg.
