Conservapedia

Found this by pure chance (OK, a newspaper article). Its exactly what it sounds like: a wikiedia presenting the "unbiased", "scientific" and "objective" knowledge of american conservatives (hence all the "") on different matters and people.

Just to give you a taste:

Evolution

http://www.conservapedia.com/Evolution

Homosexuality

http://www.conservapedia.com/Homosexuality

And of course, the article on socialism starts with a big *albatross* picture of Hitler. (if you're going to respond "well, in theory, Hitlers National-Socialist party had a socialist foundation..." = kick yourself in the nuts, please).

Anyway, this Conservapedia makes for many hours of lulz. Check it out.

P.S. If this the work of a troll... bravo!!

I like the link they made between evolutionary theory and national socialism.

Oh, and the numerous references to the theory changing changing over time and darwin having doubts about his own work. Its a scientific theory folks, its there to evolve and be questioned. Supporting "facts" with no evidence and ignoring questioning is creationism's job.

I had an argument with someone about how all muslims are not to blame for 9/11 over "teh interwebz" they called me a socialist and told me to go back to china because "we don't need you here".... I'm not even asian, I'm freaking anglo-Canadian (married to an american), my response to not being here was "well when your government stops giving me grants, I'll go someplace that will" I was also dumbfounded that being called a socialist is a still a derogatory statement, I mean seriously people still cling to neo-McCarthyism?

I also like how their fair an unbiased way of defining evolution focuses more on using antiquated theories, and question the wrong group of people, than actually defining anything. If you want to talk about evolution you don't go to M.D.s you go to physical anthropologists or evolutionary biologists, and even they won't agree with Darwinian Evolution, heck very few people do. It's all about the synthetic theory of evolution now....

Yeah I know I got trolled but I can't keep it in, the country I'm in scares me, finish my P.h.D. and RUN away.

I only skimmed it, seems like Evolution is a naked British conspiracy. Food for though at least.

On a more serious note the Dark Ages of the mind on the Right is depressing. They work off made up bullet points that are more vague and fuzzy headed than anything a left leaning liberal could dream up with a fever.

Read the first 10% of the Evolution article's introduction, which 95% of Americans found to be of dubious quality as supported by a study done by the Westford English Foundation. A further 700....

I don't understand how anyone can read that ######.

EDIT: Oh, and modern, Western European socialism is not much related to socialism of the early Twentieth Century... which would be what Nazi-ism and Stalinism (among others) are, fundamentally. This isn't theory, this is fact. If you don't like it, you can kick yourself in the nuts.

And Nazi-ism does feature a significant element of social Darwinism. Evolutionary theory was abused to "prove" the racial superiority of Aryans over other racial groups, especially Semites, Roma, Slavs, &c.

It seems too complete to be a troll site, but I'm not going to read pages and pages of ###### just to find out.

Yes every conservative is a part of the bible belt that wants to kill homosexuals and doesn't believe in evolution. Although the word socialism is throw around too much on the right just like racist is thrown around too much on the left, what would you call GM when it is partly owned by the US Treasury? As for conservative being the bad guys, who made you jump through more hoops to get a airsoft gun than we have to get a real gun? The left Labour Party if I'm not mistaken.

We don't have a Labour party in Canada, but we do have a Conservative party.

Ohh I liked these two, they made me laugh so hard my coworkers thougth I was going mad.

Since World War II a majority of the most prominent and vocal defenders of the evolutionary position which employs methodological naturalism have been atheists.[17] The Barna Group found regarding atheism and morality that those who hold to the worldviews of atheism or agnosticism in America were more likely, than theists in America, to look upon the following behaviors as morally acceptable: illegal drug use; excessive drinking; sexual relationships outside of marriage; abortion; cohabitating with someone of opposite sex outside of marriage; obscene language; gambling; pornography and obscene sexual behavior; and engaging in homosexuality/bisexuality.[18]

Religious Upbringing and Culture Can Strongly Affect Rates of Homosexuality

I don't see the conection between beeing atheist and gay/lesbian. not the conection (or importance of the conection) between beeing an Atheist and a beliver in Evolotionary theory.

My sister is a Lesbian priest for gods sake, but then again I live in Sweden.

I'm noticing a trend in certain groups of people here in the US, everything is black and white.

You can't believe in a "good" thing (say, the right to bear arms) and a "bad" thing (for this group the right to abortion would be a good example), if you believe in the"bad" thing you are automatically an anti-patriot and are hell bent on destroying the world, not to mention you are also automatically a democrat, and therefore a communist out to undermine the family values of the nation by normalizing everyones income with increasing taxes, never mind the fact that you agree with any or all of the things they believe to be "good"......lol, people here are so dumb.

I consider myself pretty damned conservative, but don't see much in the way of your stereotyping. I believe in evolution, don't have a problem with gays (I think they're weird but I don't want to kill them for goodness sake)

Saying that a conservative is a gay killing, religious, war hungry *bramston pickle* is no different than somone saying a democrat or liberal is a anti American, commie/socialist, baby killing *albatross*. So easy on the names here.

I have not read conservapedia nor do I plan to. Not every conservative feels like the people who write that, so simmer down fellas :)

There are many levels of being conservative just as there are being liberal or socialist or what have you.

Yes it is the polarization of political parties, terrible business

Well it's not necessarily from one party as much as it is from an income bracket, or region of the country. I grew up cloistered within a very well educated group of medical professionals and university faculty, and now that I'm not in university any more I'm encountering far more people who seemed to have been forgotten by the education system, and thus follow some pretty crazy view points.
