Desolation mkII
Not to forget we managed that whilst fighting a global war against one of histories greatest generals... I seem to remember a small group of rebels throwing a "tea party" and kicking out one tyrant not so long ago... Stands to reason it could happen again. Are you on crack son? Not so long ago? That was 230 odd years ago! That has no more likelihood in current events than suggesting the French might turn round and conquer most of Europe.
hitmanNo2
Your memory is faulty. It was a small group of Rich slave owning white guys who didn't want to pay taxes and got the French to help them kick the British out while we were far more concerned with hanging on to India, who were a far more economically valuable territory. Then, the first time you fought us without the French supplying you and providing you with military support, we destroyed most of Washington DC and burnt the White House to the ground. But hey, 'murica right? Don't let inconvenient stuff like 'historical fact' get in the way. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_burn_centers_in_the_United_States

Don't worry, Americans have the right to bear arms! And pistols and rifles are well know for their capacity to stop helicopter gunships, strategic bombers and aircraft carriers. maccrage
I was active duty back during the '95-'96 shutdown. We got paid late. It really sucked on an E-3 paycheck.
Jagdraben
Your memory is faulty. It was a small group of Rich slave owning white guys who didn't want to pay taxes and got the French to help them kick the British out while we were far more concerned with hanging on to India, who were a far more economically valuable territory. Then, the first time you fought us without the French supplying you and providing you with military support, we destroyed most of Washington DC and burnt the White House to the ground. But hey, 'murica right? Don't let inconvenient stuff like 'historical fact' get in the way. Not all of them owned slaves. In fact, many of them didn't. And many of those who did were willing (but didn't, ultimately) to free their slaves in the name of American independence. But there existed a significant minority who were against it. Anyway... speaking of inconvenient historical facts: The British didn't burn Washington, DC. It was the Canadians. And they only burned our capital down after we burned theirs down. Possibly the only vindictive act ever undertaken by the Canadians in the history of that country. Also: The first time you fought us without us having the aid of the French, you bitched about how our shipbuilders were cheating when they designed and built (most) of our frigates that took part in that conflict (USS President being one of the obvious bad ones... so bad that when you captured it, you put it into service as HMS President and when it was eventually broken up, you built another one just like it). And then you retaliated for it by landing troops in New England who then burned and raped their way across the countryside. Until the war ended. Epilogue: I was active duty back during the '95-'96 shutdown. We got paid late. It really sucked on an E-3 paycheck. http://terminallance.com

Desolation mkII
Might have been better if you hadn't overthrown the King. The only time this has ever happened in another first world country (Australia), the Queen's representative fired the prime minister, waited till the next one passed the bill, then fired everyone in parliament. VIPER-GR
Dont be naive, just take a look at the stock market globally, some people got a shitload of money. It was a trick that people and firstly americans (as always) swallowed it. America can not bankrupt, it would cause a worldwide domino and noone wants it, especially if they hold a lot of cash in us dollars. So when the dominant currency of the planet , the price of energy fuels, gas etc change to a something else then and only then a country's economy can collapse without too much collateral damage to others.
