Rob15
Personally I like ABS feed lips. More resilient to damage being pliable whereas metal just caves in and impossible to push back out without snapping. It's not a deal breaker for me, but I've never had an issue with metal ones and snapped plastic ones, the main thing is availability of spares should they break.
FireKnife
I must admit I have never had any decent feed lips go on me, metal or plastic. The only ones I have seen go horribly wrong are ones on cheap magazines for cheaper guns like some ACM ones. Though I don't think I will get the Vz-61, rather just wait to see the Mak appear. Brigg
There's a new Evike coming soon video for the kwa version and the AKSU. No actual details, just some video showing some fairly unimpressive accuracy. Still nothing about the makarov naturally.
renegadecow
WGC has pre orders for the KSC Taiwan version. Still heavyweight ABS but cheaper at $189: http://www8.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=special&item=KSC-SMG-VZ61-BK&search=special&rs=New%20Release&catid=&cat=&view_choice=a Short mags at $35 and long ones at $44. http://www8.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=special&item=KSC-GMAG-VZ61-20&search=special&rs=New%20Release&catid=&cat=&view_choice=a http://www8.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=special&item=KSC-GMAG-VZ61-40&search=special&rs=New%20Release&catid=&cat=&view_choice=a
Brigg
I wonder if the KWA version will be ABS plastic as well. For as much as theyve said its all metal, all of the pictures and video of it really look like plastic.
renegadecow
I wouldn't count on anything they say. They've said the WE M84 takes M9 mags even after saying it's a .380 replica, confuse a Colt SAA with a S&W model 629 Classic, and can't tell the difference between Marui and Marushin. Brigg
Looks like I was unfortunately right. The KWA version of the Skorpion is plastic bodied as well, despite them saying since SHOT show that it was metal. I suppose Im not really that interested in it anymore then. Not for $180. rusTORK
It's still better then Maruzen. At least it's Heavy Weight.
renegadecow
I dunno, a lot of stores label the two as Taiwan and Japan but both a KSC. It only seems to be US stores calling the Taiwan version as being KWA.
Brigg
I'm going by KWA's website. Even Evike has it listed as "Full Metal VZ61" and then in the description it says "Polymer Body"... like.. what? Did somebody fail English class here or something?
renegadecow
OK, just looked into ones labeled KWA and they come in a KSC box and manual only with a cardboard tag tied to the trigger guard saying KWA and the name of the OEM.
Brigg
How much you wanna bet KWA couldnt get their own produced so they gave up and just brought over the KSC one? Hence it not having the metal body it was supposed to have.
renegadecow
Does sound like a cop out. Maybe 3rd party will pick up where they left off?
Brigg
Very much a cop out, yes. And a very disappointing one at that. I would have just gotten the Maruzen one if i knew that was going to be the case, instead of waiting. Bad show, KWA. Bad show.
renegadecow
Side by side by side review between KSC, Maruzen, and Tokyo Marui VZ61.

renegadecow
It looks like they're only pre-selling.
FireKnife
Yep, still has a 'buy for when it is in stock'. KWA USAs website has had a similar thing, along with the 945 Compact for nearly two years now, saying coming soon or buy when in stock at retailers. Still the KWA 'rep' in the KWA thread back in about Jan / Feb of this year did say it was due for release this year so maybe it might not have all been BS? I wouldn't mind so much if this was any other design but it is a Makarov and why nobody has had the bloody foresight to make one by now is beyond me. Hell they could even call it a PTP or something and sell it to those US CC shooters that carry actual Makarovs and give them something for weapons manipulation and in house practice. Brigg
Yeah I think that's been on pyramids website for about the same length of time, unless they had removed it. They definitely had it up for preorder a year or two back.
Wingmann
6P9 PB, yeah, interested. A regular Makarov... not so much.
Brigg
Considering how long its taking to get just a regular makarov, I would say the chances of getting a suppressed variant are between nill and non existent.
faramon
If they did how ever make that surpressed version I'd just give them bits of me to pay for it in advance. .. Bit's I need in general terms.
FireKnife
I would laugh if the WE adaptor fitted or they did a suppressor attachment and then you could do the Hollywood style one which was just a Mak and a can . 'FireKnife'

FireKnife
Wait I have just noticed does the 6P9 PB have two magazine releases? One in the heel and one on the side? But I am just waiting for a Mak. At least the WE actually looks likely to turn up. 'FireKnife'
