tquilha
So, a long, long time ago, in a topic far, far away there was some discussion about A&K making a reliable M249 GBB. From perusing the book of ugly mugs, I came across this: https://www.facebook.com/632681066849687/videos/1518568768260908/ . Looks like they're at it again and it looks kinda promising. ETA looks like 2018
Dimitri MdP
hmmm... on one hand, it's A&K, which doesn't have any experience at all with GBBRs, are known to use sub standard materials to begin with, it's meant to be a conversion for their AEGs (which most likely mean awful AEG hops), etcOn the other hand... OMG A GBB M249!!!!!!!!
renegadecow
That ROF though. Maybe they ought to have done an M60 instead.
Guges Mk3
It's adjustable...how do I know? I am here at MOA talking to A&K. Plus it will fit in ANY LMG that has the same mechbox.
hitmanNo2
Yeah, it looks a bit anemic when you compare it to a Daytona Gunned A&K M249.
renegadecow
If it's adjustable, couldn't they I dunno, match the real one for the presentation video? I don't think their intention was like a candid WE type of reveal shot in some random warehouse during lunch break.
hitmanNo2
Indeed. Very odd. Like Porsche releasing a video of a new GT car doing the Ring in 10 mins. 'Oh, but it can go faster'
LordElpus
if it was adjustable, they appear to have slowed the rof down to a level where it wouldn't gas out in that temp. It appeared to be struggling. It's a shame that TOP M249 that could use WE M4 mags got nowhere
Dimitri MdP
It's a shame that TOP M249 that could use WE M4 mags got nowhere TOP? Wasn't it A+?
LordElpus
TOP? Wasn't it A+? TOP.
Guges Mk3
I am speaking to A&K again today....let me see if I can get your concerns addressed.
jal3
Well one of the first things that's gonna happen is someone will release a HPA tap kit or tutorial for it. With that and modified recoil springs, rate of fire should be easily achievable.
aznriptide859
Yeah, it looks a bit anemic when you compare it to a Daytona Gunned A&K M249. Wouldn't that just shatter the pot metal body lol?
Tw1tch
So I will be able to fit this in a CA? Also Mk46/Mk48 please.
hitmanNo2
Wouldn't that just shatter the pot metal body lol? Nah man. They use the A&Ks for the conversion. Seems OK.
TheFull9
A&K Minimis weigh that *fruitcage* much they should be able to take a serious beating.
3vi1-D4n
Wouldn't that just shatter the pot metal body lol? A&Ks bodies are sheet metal steel. All other bits which are cast may be alu alloy and or zinc alloy. Still A&Ks do last a while (steel front sight, bipod and magazine dust cover MUST be steel for it to take the beating. Had a number of G&P M249s trigger housing disintegrate as it WAS weak pot metal.
