Lance Jackass
ES goggles maybe, MICH or PASGT (looks more like a mich) , tri dessie trousers an a US woodland MAV of some sort. Sorry that was sod all help but i think thats what they are.
Kurtz
Maybe is a MOD body armor? Like this one EDIT: Wait a minute. This is a interceptor body armor, isn´t it? Saludos
clmwrx
well i dont care what his headware is its the vest system
DrJackal
Definitely looks like an Interceptor to me. A MAV would be a chest rig not a plate carrier so it couldn't be that.
doc_newstead
Aye, I reckon it's Interceptor body armour as well.
Bert
Definitely ESS NVG goggles, definitely an Interceptor armour carrier. The fleece sweater is probably issue SPEARS, the gloves are nomex aviators (duh), scope on the M14 looks like an M3, unsure on the helmet. The pouches are probably issue SDS MOLLE ones, but could be anything as they look too generic to tell, really.
Maple-Leaf
Don't know about the vest - but why is he wearing a BLACKfleece in the desert? He seems to be forgetting the first rule of infantry combat - "If the enemy's within range, so are you."
Para
Tis an interceptor, an it's probably cold in the desert at night. I've seen other people with 'em on.
aimpoint
yea its IBA dont think the helmet is a mich, the ear gards look to big and the chin strap doesnt look like the mich's
xRAZERx
Don't know about the vest - but why is he wearing a BLACKfleece in the desert? He seems to be forgetting the first rule of infantry combat - "If the enemy's within range, so are you." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because it can be one of the coldest places in the world. Also that fleece is good to protect in sandstorms and the like... Also the US issue fleece is black and not desert colour...

tom fahey
yes the flecee is a SPEAR one i have one and there very warm but if you get too warm you can open up the under arm to get cool air to your body

ferg981
sweet rifle he's got there. Must be early in the morning cos he looks wrapped up for the desert ~ferg~
doc_newstead
My grandad used to say that you'd get frost on your kit in the desert Hell, at AG05 I went to bed wearing 3 layers and woke up in my boxers. Summer heat can play havoc with a man's temperature
Lance Jackass
You went to sleep? I was locked out of the barn the second night and resorted to eating coffee beans and playing pool to stay awake. I really dont get desert heat. I feel ill start an annoying topic about it. Haji
Da hemmet appears to be a K-pot. The armor is a woodland Interceptor, and the mag pouches appear to be SDS M4 pockets attached to the outside of an SOTech shingle. To the outside of the shingles, he's got M14 pouches. He's a Specialist, and the bipod is a Harris Ultralight. I think we've got almost all of it now, haven't we? Those look like Knight's rings, but they could be Badger Ord...been a while since I've seen 'em. The mount is not the ARMS #18, and I'm not familiar enough with others to say which it is. He's probably wearing the issued Belleville boots, and he has a really hot picture of his girlfriend in his back pocket. He has a pack of gum in his front pocket. Its Bubblicious. Strawberry flavor. shomclone
And almost definetly wearing Armani Night, although it could be Joop, qualities too low to know for sure.
Maple-Leaf
just because the enemy is in your range doesnt mean your in theirs....... Now that I've stopped laughing so hard I couldn't type...... Check the spec's, an SVD can easily reach out and touch you at the same range as an M14. Not to mention mortars, etc...... Yeah, I know it gets cold in the desert at night - you ever been in the Sinai mountains in November/December? It snows! Not knocking the fleece - just the non-tactical colour and that he's not wearing a camo parka or anything over it to tone it down.
clmwrx
your statement is very off, and is only sometimes true not always true and not very many enimies have an svd in the first place, and if what ive read is true than the m14 is more accurate than an svd and yes artillery can reach you but do you know how hard it is for the enemy to pinpoint hit 1 sniper ??? Maple-Leaf
your statement is very off, and is only sometimes true not always true Oh really? I guess they lied to me all the way through my 13 weeks of Infantry COHORT training then, and so did my Vietnam Special Forces veteran squad leader - and hell, so did everyone in my whole chain of command for the 4 whole years I served in the 82nd Airborne Division....
