Which is a good thing..  since the real SVD is also semi auto.. so electric would work best (Gas would also work.. except if they screw it up, for example like in the G&P SVD)

What was screwed up with the G&P version? Escort internals in a real steel body. The only thing it lacked was hop up.

Sorry but I just HATE the idea of turning the SVD into AEG.

WHAT A WASTE.

looked like a GBB SVD can only happen in my wet dream.

:angry2:

And the G&P is your answer. A GBB SVD.

Erm brass internals.

Hold no where near enough gas to use.

So expensive for such an under performing gun.

If i pay $1000+ for a gun i atleast want a hop up.

Read up on it to find out what it needs to be a decent skirmishable gun.

I think KM has done a rather good job with their "springer"-SVD.

The gun is completely made out of aluminium or brass, apart from the plastic stock and handguard and some little parts(hop-up rubber, etc.).

It can take a normal AEG spring, hop-up rubber and barrel. Barrel lenght is 590mm, so a PSG barrel fits nicely. Although there is no point in changing the barrel, as it's a tightbore one already, in a stock gun. Without the grey teflon coating, though.

Only bad points come from the operation of the safety and the hop-up.

Safety's return spring is a stiff one, so the safety clicks back from "fire"-setting to "safe"-setting too easily, when the gun is shaken a bit, witch, of course, happen a lot when you run around the forest with it..=). I addressed this problem by glueing a bb on the underside of the selector lever. Now it stays in place perfectly.

The stock hop-up is pretty bad, but I installed a CA hop-up rubber and changed the stock hop-adjustment skrew for a little bigger one(had to make the standard M3-skrew to a M4-one) and now the hop works fine.

Another thing worth mentioning is, that there are no tune-up kits available for the SVD at the time I'm writing this. The stock gun shoots about 300 fps, out of the box, and the stock internals can handle an M130-spring with no problems, but since I'm planing on using stiffer springs, I'd like the internals beeing made from steel. Fortunately the internals are quite simple, so I toke measurements out of them and turned towards my local machine shop. Still remains to be seen, what they come up with, though..

Really cool...but spring operated!!! I've seen some nights ago the gas opereted one on G&P web site, but don't know pricing!!

BTW, spring or gas operated rifles aren't best choice for skirmishing.

In particular gas ones during winter are quite uneffctive (cold gas doesn't work)!!

Last but not least....$519,00+postage for a spring rifle???It's too much!!!
