amateurstuntman
Homophobia is something I like. Just like anti-vaxxers, certain haircuts, some types of clothing, being on my doorstep selling politics or religion and other outwardly obvious indicators. It saves me a lot of time getting to know someone and then hating them. I can just hate them without ever speaking to them - it's quicker.
Lowprofile
Stunt, if we ever met, I feel like we'd get along just fine
Skarclaw
Not renewed your ticket? Nope. Today though. To be fair I'm two days late and did talk to a nice lady on the phone so its all sorted. A few years ago now two coppers rocked up to arrest my brother and confiscate the guns as he'd assaulted a police officer. My mum started crying (lol) and my brother tried to explain that he had never, ever assaulted any one let a lone a cop. They went back to the car, then five mins later came back with "Sorry, wrong [brothers name]". edit: on the plus side I'm pretty sure it means I can add some stuff to my certificate. Saiga anyone? Lowprofile
How do semi auto shotguns work in this country? Does the magazine have to hold a certain amount or?
Skarclaw
How do semi auto shotguns work in this country? Does the magazine have to hold a certain amount or? More than three and it's a firearm. If you have FAC then you're ok. edit: link didn't work but yeah 20 round drums for Saiga are available in uk.
hitmanNo2
Do you have any views on Hatsans Skarclaw? Specifically the Escort MPA?
shmook
I remember you saying that about your brother, cops can be *albartrotheth*! As for semiauto, like you said, it's 3 total, mags can't hold more than 2 + 1 in the chamber. Not 100% sure but I think the mag has to be permanently attached too on an SGC, FAC for detachable. Can't remember off hand though
Lowprofile
ok, thanks guys
shmook
Do you have any views on Hatsans Skarclaw? Specifically the Escort MPA?Not Skarclaw, sorry to jump in, I had a hatsan escort semi (not the mpa) and it was... ok. Shot every load I put through it, but reloading was a twat as you had to press a button to open the loading gate. Think they changed that so the button ended up on the gate itself but apparently is still a faff. It shot ok, but point of impact was high compared to what I'm used to and it took a while to compensate for that. I put a few hundred carts through it but got rid as I heard from multiple sources that they eventually shoot themselves to pieces. Only jammed a couple of times too, nothing serious either. I looked at getting an mpa not long after, but the reliability aspect niggled and I don't think I'll get another. They look all cool and tactical but I would save my money for a named brand from the usual suspects, but that's just me Edit, speelz
hitmanNo2
Nah. Feel free to jump in bud. Fair enough. Yeah the 'squint and it's kind of an M4' along with decent mag cap on FAC are the main draws for me but if their reliability is questionable, I'll pass. A shame as pretty much everything else is based on the M1100 type classic outline. Oh well, I guess there are Saigas.
shmook
Mossberg m590? Edit, benelli if you've got deep pockets. Or a spas 12. If you can find one...
hitmanNo2
This is going to sound weird, but for some reason I don't like the shape of Mossbergs. I think I'd rather put full stock pistol grip on an M1100.
shmook
Maybe here! spas
shmook
I like the mossberg after having a gas airsoft one for years, it fits me well Edit, the 590 comes with a bayonet lug too. Just sayin'
Skarclaw
I know nothing about them but after googling my gawd that looks fun
hitmanNo2
The looks you would get rocking up to clay pigeon with a Spas 12 lol. You already get looks if you're packing a 2+1.

hitmanNo2
Guess just my local. Though it's been a few years since I've been there. Maybe they got with the times.
shmook
Some places can be fusty tbh, but my local ones are fine
Skarclaw
I wanna take an automatic to the local shoot. Would be amazing. I was a beater there for 12 years. It wasn't as elitist of alot of shoots (it being a small one) but unfortunatly the old boys are dieing off and there isn't really the younger generation to replace them. A bit sad really. One of the old gits down there served in "Malaya" told me about how he rocked a mossberg pump such was average engagement distance.
shmook
That's it, we need the younger generation to keep the sport going. As soon as my lad can hold one I'm getting him a .410 to start on, and one of those cap gun SxS for discipline first
Wild_XIII
Or a spas 12. If you can find one... I remember many years ago seeing one in my local gun shop back when I was into airguns. It was kind of out of place as it was on the same rack as all the rather fancy side by sides.
shmook
I'd love one
Azubi
Even fullbore rifle is an old person's game. Just go down to any range and the vast majority seem to be 50+, with lots past retirement age. Hardly any younger people.
shmook
That's a cost thing I'm guessing. I'd love to do it bit don't have several grand disposable to start up
