Light Fighter
Yea, we are on the right page. For a second there I thought you were saying that Danny Busch was at the 2nd (Super Six 4) crash site. Yes, in the movie and in real life, Shughart used an m21 (m14) where as Gordon used the Car 15. Thorbard
Shughart used an m21 (m14) It was an M14, not the M21. An M21 is (in simple terms) an M14 thats been to sniper school. It was a VN era M14.
skyler8158
As for what they used in RL... Somalia '93 Delta kit display at JFK Special Warfare Museum Custom tailored chest rig to hold M16 and m1911 mags.
joker, the frickin ninja
Thanks for that. I'll be looking into something like that soon.
kenshin9
As for what they used in RL... Somalia '93 Delta kit display at JFK Special Warfare Museum Custom tailored chest rig to hold M16 and m1911 mags. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>  how is that torch mounted? doesnt look liek a barrel one. because its not is it :S  thanks  Jas
Lithium Jack
Attached to a bit of rail that's been epoxied on? Seems feasible.

Wraith18A
If anyone's looking for it, the best choice would probably be to get the "Navy SEAL PT Armor" or something similar (such as this, this, this, this, this, this, or this) and then the Eagle Industries Universal Tactical Chest Rig (shown here) Â That would probably be the best bet for whoever wants to do a good Eric Bana load out.
master_titled
then the Eagle Industries Universal Tactical Chest Rig (shown here)Â That would probably be the best bet for whoever wants to do a good Eric Bana load out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> wow nice job wraith. It really looks like it. except in OD. Â Hmm... I'm really interested in going to a Somalia '93 Delta kit now... Â Can anyone get me a pic of Shugart's and Gordon's kit?
Wraith18A
I'm pretty sure that Shugart and Gordon were just wearing the black PT armor vests with standard ALICE gear over them. Gordon (with the suppressed M4) I believe would also have the EI UTCR.
trfo2o
he has the PT style armor vest, some kind of vest that goes over that, and then the chest harness like the BHI one. If you watch the behind the scenes stuff you can get a glimpse of his back and he has a butt pack mount way up at his shoulder blades with some wiring coming out like a radio. I've looked for ages for the vest that he wears over the PT armor and I gave up. Someone might need to contact the film company to find out, i dunno.
Lithium Jack
In the film, Shugart and Gordon wear PT Armor with BHI .223 chestrigs, and LBV-88's holding up their belts, which have a couple of M16 pouches and a buttpack each. Otherwise, just like the other Delta operators (DCUs, black kneepads, Adidas GSG9 Boots (I think), Protec half-cut's with Otto headsets, aviator gloves)
skyler8158
...and then the Eagle Industries Universal Tactical Chest Rig... That rig was actually developed by Delta operator Paul Howe (basis for Sgt. Sanderson/William Fichtner). It's pretty clsoe to the custom rigs they were wearing during the battle. bad aim
Umm, who are you talking about? Daniel Busch was the only defender at the crash site of Wolcott's Super Six 1 until help arrived. Shughart and Gordon defended the Super Six 4 Mike Durant crash site. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Negative. Both crew chiefs survived the crash, however, both pilots were killed on impact. Deepeyes
I found this,  http://www.laylax.com/webcatalog/index.php...gg1056&p_arrSel  I don't know how accurate it is.
PariahWolf
Negative. Both crew chiefs survived the crash, however, both pilots were killed on impact. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both survied yes, only one was able to defend the crashed helo though. Â So he was right. bad aim
Both survied yes, only one was able to defend the crashed helo though. Â So he was right. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Negative. Sgt. James McMahon, who was the other Delta operator in Super 6-1, also survived and assisted in defending the crash site (even though the movie did not show it). Â Sorry, Daniel Busch was a Delta operator, too, not a crew chief as it may have been infered. Â To recap, both crew chiefs and both Delta operators survived, yet one of the crew chiefs, Staff Sgt. Ray Dowdy, was badly injured. He had to be extracted by Sgt. Tim Wilkinson, part of the rescue squad sent in.
PariahWolf
I assumed we were talking about the film. Â The differences get people confused when they have only seen the film and people talk abut the book.
bad aim
I assumed we were talking about the film. The differences get people confused when they have only seen the film and people talk abut the book. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, well in that case...   However, with the actual names of the soldiers that were mentioned in this thread, it's sometimes hard to tell whether one is talking about the book or movie. Â Â However, with the actual names of the soldiers that were mentioned in this thread, it's sometimes hard to tell whether one is talking about the book or movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Damn straight. However good a movie it may be, why don't we just stick to the book.
