wildchild
Opened the gearbox yesterday, Was pleasantly surprised. Metal bushings, CA gears, vented piston head, Spring wasnt attached to piston head, just like upgraded marui's. Spring is slightly stiffer than stock marui. Reasonably accurate shimming. All looking pretty good, ive upgraded with a TM motor and 9.6v, and now this thing is easily as good if not better than most other small AEG's out. I have some pictures of the inside of the gearbox, however they are kinda dark. I can also detail the procedure for putting in a 9.6v battery for anyone who is interested. Cheers Matt

wildchild
About 73. There were no customs and excise charges at all. Well worth it, i think you will agree. Cheers Matt
pokethepope
so it comes with metal bushings as standard?
wildchild
Yes, everything I listed above is as standard. Unfortunatly, still no sign of the tactical iguana. Matt

renegadecow
I recently opened mine and wasn't happy with the shimming. It was shimmed like a stock Marui with 1 sad shim for every gear. Lots of play observed too. I re-shimmed it myself plus better lubrication and got a good 50rpm more.
Forze
i'm satisfied with mine (as a backup), lubed it a bit & didn't even bother to change the shims if it breaks down i'll fix it, if not, ...
wildchild
I also noticed the shimming, it wasnt very good at all. Also the piston head was quite a bad fit in the cylinder, due to the o-ring being too small. I changed all the internals to marui, reshimmed, added a 9.6v, and the ROF very good, equal to any other 9.6 weapon, and the power is above forum limits by a little bit. I didnt change the spring in this at all. Pretty impressive for a clone. Matt

mr moeman101
if I do not know how to take apart the gearbox and reshik it then what are some options that I would have if I was planning on getting one of these?
wildchild
You neednt worry, they will run well without any re-shimming. However they work better, if you can re shim. There are guides to shimming on this website and it isnt too difficult. Up to you though.
FISHy
Did you get the 9.6V battery of the same gunnerairsoft site? How much and how do u fit it? What upgrades do you think you need for it to be a good backup weapon Thanks
wildchild
I didnt get anything from gunner airsoft. However any 2/3af 9.6v battery will work. Or cut up an existing 8.4v stick, and order a new cell of the same mah, discharge the 8.4v and add the new cell in. Hey presto new 9.6 battery. You need to remove the cocking handle and some material from the front to fit a 9.6v. It needs no upgrades to be a decent backup. However if you got the knowledge to re shim and re grease, it will make it better. Also if you can get hold of a marui piston and stick that in, your onto a winner.
Rhysd2
at 328ish fps how does it compare range wise to other guns? been tempted to get one myself but concerned it'll be ###### for woodland gaming
Exorcist
Redwolf sells now the PDW also but for 99USD w/o Battery and Charger
wildchild
The range is very good, its about that of a normal AEG. At the last game I went too I got the most kills with this, even though I have 3 other rifles. Its the size that does it. Matt
