Legal requirements for blanks and primers vary, but in the UK you can buy blanks from most gunsmiths with no paperwork, and mail order primers from about £8 per hundred easily enough.

Not suitable for every country to be sure, but no worries in the UK.

CO2 over here is £0.50-£0.90 per capsule.

Yes but one can refill co2 like any other gas with paintball tank of varied sizes from 88g to 700g etc using same kind of nozzle and fill valve as any gas gun/nade etc.

That being said, I'd really like to have those pyros and blank firers available here. The mortar looks so cool. I'm surprised that there is no 40mm pyros (other than tag)..?

800psi inside a grenade to throw at people?

Thats going to have to be solid steel and built like a tank.

People have been launching pyro (illegally ) from 40mm moscarts for at least the last 10years at least TAG is legal (ish) but very expensive, i did like the look of the spring powered m203 launcher for mk5 pyro but some sites have banned it.

Yes, there are. Check out my P.M.O.G. pyro/chalk rounds:

The pyros in P.M.O.G. rounds are more legal than those in TAG ones in US. There are only 0.008 mg of silver fulminate in the snappers as compared to 85 mg flash powder in the TAG rounds (U.S. regulations restrict pyrotechnic content to be less than 50mg in commercial fireworks: https://www.atf.gov/publications/factsheets/factsheet-illegal-explosives-devices.html). UK's regulations are more lenient - you can go upward to 200mg - hence TAG pyro rounds are OK in UK.

You'll have to build your own P.M.O.G., though. Here are the instructions: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/210207-pmog-airsoft-40mm-projectile/page-5&do=findComment&comment=2719132

BTW, there's a homemade flashbang that use CO2 cartridges posted a while ago: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/212165-bamse-the-grenade-of-the-future/?hl=bamse

it doesnt 'seem' to but if you score it too deeply you'll hear it go bang quickly then continue to hear gas coming out for a few seconds afterwards - obviously this is a waste of gas which theoretically would make the bang louder if it all came out at once.  The trick is just gently mark a cross on the side with a blade to help it along without gauging too deep

The Prohibition specifies "not for pyrotechnic purposes" though, which is probably why they're ok, seeing as we throw smokes and bangs for the pyrotechnic effect of smoke and/or bang.

If I recall correctly the instructions on smokes and flash bangs both state that they should be both dropped after being striked/lit! Nowhere does it mention throwing after ignition  :rules:
