FarEast
I reported last year that ICS have over hauled thier MP5 gear box design and some images of the resin model. Well they have started production of this new design and not only have they improved the gear box they have also done away with the zinc alloy receiver and moved over to a stamped steel receiver. UrPeaceKeeper
Ohh goodness... Stamped Steel, now we are talking. What Steel though? Any way you look at it it will be 100x better than zinc alloy. Only way this could get better is if it had a one peice barrel. HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE
Gigueand
Only way this could get better is if it had a one peice barrel. HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE Only way this could be better was if you could use the standard M4 uppers in the MP5... That is a forlorn hope, I think.
Dock trinE
Is it just me or does the second pic of the metal body look kinda bad? It looks like there's burn marks (from welding I guess) and the metal looks kinda weak in general.
crackisbad
seeing as it is not the final copy, i dont think we will have to worry much about that. plus once it is painted black you wont be seeing any burn marks farEast, do you have any pics of the new gearbox? edit: nevermind, did some searching and found your old thread with the gearbox pics
SGCDude
Stamped steel? YES!!!! If it can be stamped, it's probably more than good enough as long as it's more than .5 mm thick...
Magsz
Wow, im kind of surprised to see this kind of advancement from ICS. Ive never really been a fan of their products for numerous reasons but they really seem to be on the ball lately. Kudos to them. I really hope they address the issues of their current mp5's. Terrible hopup. Terrible gearbox Terrible selector switch Terrible composition of plastic parts.
Abelius
Now I'm happy I didn't get that CA MP5. ICS MP5SD6 with a steel body? Yes please!
Panzergraf
Stamped steel, huh? Awesome. Hope the final version will be welded to the cocking tube, none of those ugly screws. And I hope they make a stamped steel G3 too
NeoVeNoM
Only way this could be better was if you could use the standard M4 uppers in the MP5... That is a forlorn hope, I think. No offence, but that's plain madness. Ones they get those MP5's released, I aswell hope for a MP5SD6.
Kirby1986
is it safe for me to say that ICS has been making the most inovations out of all of the companies that make AEGs?
TheKurodaVagrant
Alright, a steel MP5 that isn't a Systema! I'm excited. I'm glad I didn't buy an MP5 last year like I was planning.
oldman1980
About time they started doing things with the stamped steel instead of that alloy crud they've been using.
greebo_Brat
The part that I like the look of, no prongs to hold the foregrip and barrel in, so hopefully a more secure method of fitting the front part of the MP5 on (I broke my last ICS MP5 by falling on it and snapping the two prongs). RSM
Would it be too much to hope as well as this they introduce a CA MP5 type hop cover/cocking handle system and retain the ability to mount their laser in the front most part of the cocking tube?
TheKurodaVagrant
If they integrated a working false bolt and kept the space for the laser in the cocking tube (or better, maybe they're aiming for realistic construction?) then this would sell like hotcakes. I'm already set on getting one of these babies when they come out, but those features would make me drool.
SniperSidd
Is there any news of a release date for the new MP5s?
