RockDog
I hope to see a PGC kit in the near future with any luck. Or if Guarder will hopefuly do the kit in black as their alloy finish doesnt float my boat! http://www.intrudershop.com/commingsoon.asp
Lon
Very nice to see progress on this kit. They'll probably be making a black one along with this alloy one, I hope...
Mr Foxhound
That silver looks very like my 1911. Not very shiney, more of a grey finish, which I like. Pretty nice.
Nitemare1
Heh, anyone else spot the typo on the M9 kit?
The Suppressor
Although I have a lot of faith in Guarder's products, hopefully they won't make the mistake of Zeke's kit with weak tangs between the outer barrel and chamber.
Lon
Heh, anyone else spot the typo on the M9 kit? Yeah, pretty big typo there, especially considering it's commemorating Desert Storm, even listing years on the slide... not too sure why they couldn't spell it right - Some of their 1911 kits had full trades, which actually looked pretty nice. They better not mess up the Eagle's trades, though... ie "DEZART EAGLE .50 AE". Although I suppose anything would beat finding a Zeke / continuing to use my plastic slide w/ worn out slide catch notch. Suppressor, what happened with the Zeke kit? Don't tell me the tangs were prone to breakage...? Hope this won't be the case with the Guarder...
The Suppressor
Well I have the 10" barrel/frame set and I've obviiously knocked it at some point and broken these (about 5, very thin) tangs. I can see it happening to the 6" aswell, not just due to my vulnerable, pertruding barrel. I'll have a pop at showing you where I mean. You can clearly see a gap now before the scope ring slots. And yes, it now has a little upward/downward play in the barrel.
masakarijoe
is that really the final color of the kit? many prototype kits are pictured in that color until they come out... -Joe
Mr Foxhound
My Garuder 1911 body is that color, so pretty sure.
masakarijoe
ok, but there is no real desert eagle in that color... so why would they make it? as far as i know, desert eagles only come in black, chrome, and gold -Joe
danr
I'm hoping for a decent looking gold one. I'll probably have to pick one up to compare to my Zeke ones.
Rec
as far as i know, desert eagles only come in black, chrome, and gold They come in 7-8 different silver/grey finishes.
DWells55
Those aren't real pictures, they're 3DSMax renderings done in the default/blank material, thus resulting in that color.
Mr Foxhound
Maybe. But my 1911 is that exact finish, so i wouldnt doubt it.
Five-sEvEn
Ahh! This post kinda makes me wish I didn't sell my 2 desert eagles! I sold them because finding metal kits for them would've been impossible! I've kept my eye out for the Zeke kits for a long time and never found anything.
masakarijoe
Maybe. But my 1911 is that exact finish, so i wouldnt doubt it. yes, but is your desert eagle? -Joe
junior
The silver version would make a nice base to get duracoated in the color of your choice. THinking about picking one up and getting everything duracoated in a black oxide color...
BigAl
ok, but there is no real desert eagle in that color... so why would they make it? as far as i know, desert eagles only come in black, chrome, and gold -Joe It has come in loads of differant finishes including Chrome Plated, Hard Chrome Plated, Nickel Plated. Olive Drab, Black Oxide and Blued.

Lt.Fenix
A lot of manufacturers do that... they show the unpainted metal parts before they start mass producing them. Hell, look at the M9 slide & frame on the same page. They're installed with original black parts. I'm pretty certain it'll be done in black at least.

RSP1
You can always sand it down and cold blue it for a more unique look. I wasn't aware cold blues (or any blueing) worked on aluminum. Got a link?
