  1. That's awesome. I could never make something like that. My favorite tools are: - hammer - duct tape
  2. Thanks and thanks for the ideas. A WE diamond grip would probably look pretty good, as seen on that nice 6 incher in post #1973.
  3. Thanks! I've been thinking of cutting the 4.3 frame for a long time too, but wasn't sure if it'd actually turn out right. But it's easier than one might think. Mag: - 4.3 with carom shot valve (normally use 5.1 mags with stock valves) Frame: - mutilated and steel wooled 4.3 frame - 5.1 grip with rounded trigger guard (drop of epoxy in the hole that appears where you cut the trigger guard) - 5.1 grip safety - 4.3 thumb safety - 4.3 MSH with nineball spring (also tried a 150% spring, but that was overkill, nineball is close to 4.3 stock spring) - rounded 5.1 hammer
  4. Before fitting: shot like a WE, and I was thinking: I've created a monster. Time to break out the tools. After fitting: So smooth, I have to wipe the butter off my hands after shooting. Or sometimes I don't wipe it off and just touch myself, muhuh. And yes, give us our 6.0 standard slides NOWWW
  5. Awesome, usmc. Way better than that railed atrocity pictured earlier, with the knife and all that. How rugged is the construction of these shotguns, can they be slinged safely without fear of stuff bending or breaking?
  6. Yeah, the button is not perfectly straight, and the top cover is a little loose. Welcome to AK ownership.
  7. Your question is answered, with pictures, on page 1 in this very thread.

All things said and done, I'd get the TM over this. And if the quality and ruggedness of the TM Detonics is any indication of the 1911's ditto, I'd keep the 1911 gloriously stock - my conclusion of the Detonics is that it simply doesn't need more metal, at all.
  9. True. Experienced users have no real reason for using this anyway, they may as well use manual shimming and gearing. Should be cheaper too, right? But a mechbox n00b like me is avoiding a lot of hassle by using the modular gear set, so I can concentrate on the cylinder area and such.
  10. The other day I grabbed my Detonics to do some shootin, ejected the mag and started gassing it up - PSSSHHH gas was leaking from the mag (or clip if you will). But it was just from the mag base, so I knocked out the bottom pins, lubed the rubber seal, and that fixed it right up.
  11. Well it works in a dboys v3, though the metal bushings are a very, very tight fit. Hammer time.
  12. I like how Marushin lists the flaws right on the box: LD-2 system Eighteen round capacity Blue letter limited edition Super surprised Kick At least Mr. Marushin is honest - or possibly just insane.
  13. Seems a bit too generous to me.
  14. Alright... anyway, how about that fps test? Also is there any liquid gas squirting from the action when fired? When rapid fired?
  15. As for the slight angle thing, mine does that too. ACM does not equal perfection.
  16. A shortened gun made big again. Tsk tsk.
  17. Real steel sight: $85 An entire new dboys AK: $100 choices, choices
  18. Wow, that's pretty cute. Looks better than the SK.
  19. This thread has degenerated into a "wot gunzer wuld u like to have as airsoft???" thread. Why? Now let's see some more BEER can tests with that friggin Looger.
  20. Holy *beep*, that's a pretty useful vest. Must be popular among serial killer fishermen!
  21. Well I find the Redwolf results to be pretty consistent with my own tests. ~310 fps Hi-Capa: penetrates one side of can and breaks other side, but BB stays inside can. ~340 fps KSC M9: flies straight through both sides of can, puts a dent in bottom. ~400 fps dboys AK: barely penetrates bottom (some cans get penetrated, others don't). ~550 fps VSR (at 6 meters range): always penetrates bottom, both center and edge. Puts a dent in top of can.
  22. Fixed. But surely it must be a mistake? Guinness, can you clarify this matter?
