Has it come to this? Am I really considering on buying a $60 pair of gloves just because it has SPLAV on it?!?

Okay, we need to find the root of your problem. 1. Is this in any way regarding a loadout? 2. Why are you looking at SPLAV and not the Soviet era gloves or East German ones. 3. Why are you not instead working on a secret project to tighten your power base? 4. Why do I feel you have typed this same status before, and it turned out to be a sarcastic joke?
