  1. We've had this thread in other guises before in other sections, but I feel that one in here General where you can post literally any guns/gear/parts/whatever tacticool shiz, makes more sense. For the participation levels we have here now, having the little content that gets posted as massively-split and widely distributed (vs condensed and concise) doesn't make any sense to my mind - exemplified by the fact we have so many archived picture threads. I won't be able to contribute regularly myself because my gear comes along like buses, but the idea is simple: when anything new shows up you snap it and post it, from a whole gun or plate carrier to a tiny accessory or part, maybe talk about how your current builds are going if you like or anything you have planned or in progress. Of course fancier shots of finished rigs/guns/loadouts can still go in those threads as well if so desired. To get the ball rolling, this lot is what I've acquired in the past 6 months or so.

    Light Protection

Got a CQB sesh booked in a couple of weeks, need to finally get around to covering up my surefire scout heads. Can't remember for the life of me, is this the kit that used to get recommended a lot to fit over SF lights? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Maglite-AA-Accessory-Pack-Multicolour/dp/B00002ND52
  3. Actually ponied up for a proper fancy pants charger with LED screens and everything.  Only took 14 years.

    Light Protection

Someone on here definitely said they worked years ago, I think it was @bladerunner168 maybe. Thanks for the suggestions though I'll look in to those as well.
  5. Many years ago I couldn't get the exact TM 1911 I wanted, so I had Mike Cripps of ESC build this one entirely out of stock TM parts i.e. high quality, all work together perfectly, assembled by someone with years and years experience building this platform Basic list: -MEU Slide, 3-dot sights and outer barrel -Desert Warrior frame with the removable pic rail -Ambi safety -Extra short 1911A1 trigger -Brand spanking grips, MSH, hop bucking and inner barrel from my M45A1 All other external parts and all internals are stock TM as mentioned, functions exactly like any stock TM 1911/MEU etc in every way. Condition wise, apart from the parts from the M45, I think it saw maybe 4 games tops and I don't use my sidearms much. Probably only a couple of hundred BBs fired. It's got some scuffs and tiny dings around the outsides of the plastic as TMs always get as soon as you use them, but that's the extent of it. Given that no courier I know of will take them, this does not come with a mag. If you want to collect from NW london or wallingford (oxfordshire) I can do you a good deal on a number of the silver MEU magazines however. Price: £70 includes any fees but not P&P (obviously if you collect there's no cost there).

    TM M45A1 Outer Barrel

The gun is the ideal skirmishing 1911 far as I'm concerned, but I hate this bloody chrome barrel. The outers aren't compatible with legacy ones (different hop unit) and the black model has the same colour OB. I'm guessing I'm stuck with this though unless I go metal? And I can't help but feel a metal one will eat the locking recesses and other plastic parts. I do not like messing with the TM pixie dust one bit. It's just a whole chain reaction of bad.

    TM M45A1 Outer Barrel

Regular paint on the chamber and the part of the barrel that the bushing slides over is gonna last all of a few shots I'm pretty sure. The issue for me is they basically put the S70 Nickel finish on it and the RS is stainless/chrome looking but it's not mirror sheen like this thing. Not my area of expertise but I'd imagine a high quality 3D print of it could potentially work and stand up to the cycling.

Basic *badgeress* question, I'm assuming these BBUs make steel slides viable?

Pictures of Airsoft Stuff You Just Bought

Crye G3s, I dunno when they were made or who they were issued to but they've never been sold commercially in this combo of fabric and camo. You can get Drifires from AG-Tac, but for NYCO you just got to constantly scour every 2nd hand sales venue on the internet - which is where all the really rare stuff comes from.

WE Hi-Power Mark III (finally coming)

No manufacturer ever did the MGS3 pistol? That's weird af cause I swear I saw the MGS4 offered (WA or something?) and the 1911 is one of the main characters in Snake Eater.

She's come a long way the old girl, I'd be interested to read the parts list.

A few rare birds. Up until a couple of days ago I hadn't been home where any of my kit is for about 10 weeks since the start of lockdown, been waiting a long while to get this layout shot done.

    FN Picture Thread

I looked a little while back and there was no ACR adapter for the TM SCARs, subsequently I have a veeeery similar setup on my Mk16 rear-end to bladerunner's.

Anyone still around from the old days?

I'm not sure about different packaging, but yeah as I say there's never been like a Gen 2 or anything where the entire line changed. The AK models had a revamp specifically where they changed to having stop-on-empty and obviously they've released many more AR variants and the Minimi is interesting but that's all. We can but hope that one day they'll move over to setting the guns up with deans and mosfets etc vs the 8.4v nimh obsolescence they're still happy to sit on (obviously you can run them on 7.4 lipos, I know and I do, but they're not selling lipos or really building the guns with them in mind).

They were always called NGRS, nothing's changed with them (as is TM's habit). I'm not sure they were ever cheap as you're remembering though lol.

SSD recently ran an article talking about Shield offering glass lenses as a custom option as it happens.

    wot am best SUSAT?

The real one sometimes doesn't hold zero, but only because people forget you need the windage screws to both be fully tightened and with their locking nuts and lock washers attached. Eye relief dictates you have to be slightly pushing in to the tiny rubber eye cup, easy to do with just webbing, pretty bloody hard in osprey.

    wot am best SUSAT?

Yeah it's a joke. It's also a rule from 2008 and I don't reckon Marlowe's been on here in a long time, it's also not like this board is flooded with content. Personally, I've not tried any of the replicas to compare to the real one, but I've also never seen a good review of any of them. Not enough demand to make enough quantity/revisions for them to get good I'd think, but I'd be interested to hear anything contrary. The real thing is an absolute brick, the sight picture is terrible compared to good modern optics and being accurate or getting a good group is just way harder than it should be, but that's 80s tech for ya.

    Pics of your Gear

Some of my rigs that I took photos of years ago and put on the ol' socials but not here. Have been a few little changes but not all that much. Most FirstSpear here, some Tyr, bits of BFG, TT, HSGI, Flimmuur, G-Code and Safariland. The front plate bag and shoulder straps on the RG PC are scratch built, as are the triple 556 placards though they've since been sold and I use replacements that accepts Spiritus inserts these days.
