  1. Rather pretty looking that. 14.5"?
  2. *fruitcage* me, was the URX III just so un-gucci that you had to put it on an SR-47 with an AOR2 background?? Dayyyymn yo.
  3. You pretty much have to be in Afghan to get the MTP Mk 4 Osprey, it's not a case of just nabbing one off a surplus site, they're brand spanking new kit and not that many even exist yet. Also unlike some new-ish gear (the CS95 cut MTP for example) those things are actually quite tightly controlled/looked after by the system. Not the sort of thing you'd get away with just flogging on ebay (as a member of the services that is).
  4. Final picture is damn pretty. Which rifle case is it?
  5. Hey if it does what you need, that's what matters man. eel - I honestly did not ever think I'd see a 58 patt' belt inside a $100 MOLLE belt, good effort.
  6. Can't help thinking, there must be a lot of guys running around Afghanistan at this very moment with guns and gear that are worth less/much less gucci than a lot of airsofter's stuff is.

Mad as it sounds a lot of my mates are squaddies and they ask me about what is good kit to buy..........

I see this (and other similar) misconception cropping up a lot. A guy I was in training with had a civvie ask him some questions about the Harrier, questions that my colleague barely even knew could be asked, let alone provide answers. Yet he can still do his specific job very well. I have no clue how many lbs of thrust the Typhoon plants develop. Same thing happens with regards individual equipment.

You learn your field, doesn't make you a fountain of knowledge.

Lots of squaddies think that the issue kit will suffice and having looked at it most of it is average to poor.

My mate is off holidaying and now has Taco's and artceryx kneecaps on my recommendation!

  7. I'm not sure the lowers are interchangeable between calibres. Far as I'm aware, the upper used on the H is of different dimensions to the L, similar to the difference found between AR-10 and AR-15 variants.
  8. That's excellent to hear actually, thanks. Hadn't heard any long term reviews before now so that is a pleasant surprise.
  9. It'll mostly be in video format up on YT, probably some time next week seeing as I don't get internet hooked up in my new block room until this friday, and I will be in no fit state for airsoft related things this weekend... I have however taken a fair few extras pictures specifically for the forum, just to give some views and details that can't really be brought across in a video. So hopefully, between those two things, all bases should be covered. Sorry lads. Scuff: Happy to help mate.
  10. Calibre of the RS is irrelevant to airsoft. But GOD DAMMIT I want some kind of AR-10...
  11. Well, due to a myriad of factors this is unfortunately the best I can do right now, so horrific mypsace-esque pic coming up. It's riding high right now, but a load of mags and a bladder full of water will sort that. Quality: I tend to be of the opinion that when making tac gear there is a certain 'ceiling' as it were with nylon gear. Once you've used 1000D cordura, mil-spec webbing and thread, double/triple/quad stitched everything, top notch 3D mesh, all IR compatible, ITW hardware, the best hook+loop you can get and all with a solid QC program... well you can't really do anythi
  12. WAS 'DCS' Plate Carrier Undecided on mag pouches at the moment, it's a toss up between TACOs, Ten Speeds and ESSTAC with Kydex inserts.
  13. 1.5lb flash hider? Damn man, you know they have these things called gyms where you can go to work out instead?? O-ho! In jokes!
  14. Does it work better than Marlowe's?
  15. Only 16" barrel seems to be the Dytac: http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=category&item=DY-ACC-OB416FB&search=special&rs=Outer%20Barrel%20for%20AEG&catid=14&cat=87 It definitely won't have the horizontal holes for your standard issue front sight/gas block, though I'd imagine if you've got the tools and skills it can be done. Whether the gas system is the correct length for the mid-length MOEs, also no idea sadly. Tried the PDI W-Hold in my 12" SOCOM, but unfortunately I've only been able to field it once and on that occasion it
  16. Gas block comes off, but there's no cut-outs for the roll pins you'd need to fit an A-frame. That, and the portion of the barrel that is the correct diameter for gas blocks is shorter than usual, it's only the length of the supplied VLTOR low-pro. Finish: Meh, standard airsoft paint. It suffices but it's nothing that great. Fit: Mine did work fine, but the portion that slots in to the upper was a bit wider than it should have been, it didn't quite slot in to place 100% correctly. Very close, and like I say it works fine, but it could have been produced to a higher standard..
  17. I reckon a short version with a good tightbore could easily match the standard version with a stock barrel.
  18. Well I've pictured it with the pouch lids tucked in there, but I'll be using it with those all closed up. Wingmann is pretty much on the money, just for a slightly different reason. Stacking 10-speeds on top of other pouches is definitely a good idea because they go back flat when empty, but it's tricky to mount them to TACOs, I tried to do just that once before. TACOs are only 2/3 of the standard height, therefore you have a flap of the 10-speed at either the top or bottom that's swinging in the breeze (depending on where precisely you mount your TACO that is of course). It's not too b
  19. I only ever have 4 on me for my primary, maximum. How long are the games you play? Honest question, I think it highlights how much the type of field you're playing at (and the way said field is run) can affect the kind of gear you need to field.
  20. Just over a year after SteevolS there, more of the same (or similar).
  21. Warrior DCS: Immense bit of kit. If you're after a fancy tacticool PC, get one, before UK-Tac inevitably put the price up.

Honestly, I never used to like multicam either, everyone just seemed to buy it because it was new and flashy. It wasn't some SEAL picture or Crye gear that changed my mind, I was at a few games and saw it WORKING, and working well. Since then I've started acquiring a fair bit. Haters will hate, but hell, who cares?

yes the "damn it" I want it...... Similiar design to the TYR plate carrier with the mesh and everything. And I do NEED a multicam plate carrier.

  22. I was lacking an internet connection for a few days and since I've come back the boxes at the right-hand side of the overall forum view seem a bit iffy. The main one I'm interested in is the 'recent status updates' which seems to have been moved much lower down than it previously was, and every time I navigate away from the that page it contracts itself, meaning I have to expand it again every time I come back. Also (this may be intentional, not sure) but the 'Arn's Supporters' box now refuses to contract, and since it's above the status updates it's being rather annoying. Cheers ad

Gooood good :D Given that it's from op-tac I don't think I need to ask whether it was expensive, heh.

Indeed.... Shame shipping is so much but really its VAT that kills it

  25. Tactical it isn't, but that's a striking looking firearm no doubt about it. Nice effort.
