Leadmill
No, but I must read it now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I got mine for £9.99 at Forbiddon Planet, it is made of death and win!
GuzziHero
28 films later. Plotline. Character wakes up in a hospital. It is deserted and much stuff is destroyed. He ventures out into the streets to find them also deserted with cars and stiff overturned. He is suddenly chased by some crazed looking people who are covered in red streaks. Stoke City fans. Fortunately he is rescued by two people who explain to him that 28 days ago the 28th film in the 28DL franchise was released on British television. With so many films, channels had not time to show anything else and simply showed the 28 films 24 hours a day. The football was cancelled and the this caused the Stoke city fans to be infected with a feeling of rage. This drove the Stoke city fans to riot, soon the infection had spread to Birmingham, then Bristol, London. Soon all major UK cities had fallen, except Leeds and Liverpool where the zombies were to frightened of being mugged. etc etc <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I live in Stoke and have driven one of the buses between the grounds and Meir Square (its as classy as it sounds) and I can honestly tell you that youd never tell if they were zombies or not. Theyre almost all brainless with blood on their shirts anyway. Oh, and for the benefit of the 3 people on earth who havent seen it: http://kevan.org/brain.cgi?Guzzihero Edit: Got 2 of ya. Who's the third?

hardboiledcop
I might have just not been concentrating on the film, but did anyone else feel like the end was a bit sudden, I was expecting a lot more..
Wotan
Just another example of hollywood trying to make money off a British film and ruining it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> COMPLETELY agree. First episode was simply GREAT.
ECRRRainman
What did they ruin exactly? The movie was great, I was even skeptical after reading this thread and I still came out finding it a great sequel
Jagdraben
COMPLETELY agree. First episode was simply GREAT. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which is funny, because it's actually a British firm that made the film. Not Hollywood. I love how whenever a film franchise goes downhill, everyone blames it on Hollywood, even if Hollywood never even touched it. Must be all the Jews in Hollywood and lingering anti-semitism. Wotan
Which is funny, because it's actually a British firm that made the film. Not Hollywood. 100% shure?
sharp
the point of the movie was lost in 28 weeks latr because their was no build up it was to quick and a poor sequal to the amazing 28 days later if it was a new movie then itwould have been barable but not as a sequal
Jagdraben
100% shure? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes.
DazJW
The writers and director of 28 Weeks Later are Spanish, with British producers. 28 Days Later's was all British. As Jagdraben, no Americans in important positions. So people who don't like it can blame the Spanish if they must blame someone.
Wotan
I didn't know it. And the funds for the making of the movie, too?
Jagdraben
'British producers' is a big hint.
Sledge
So, we're agreed. It's Jesus' fault.
Wotan
'British producers' is a big hint. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Producers sometimes collects money from many sources... If I want to make a sequel I give 20 millions euros to a british producer. You bet the movie comes out. And it's British, isn't it?.
Jagdraben
Producers gather money, but they don't necessarily take it with instructions on how to do the movie. That is, afterall, the producer's job: To give instructions on how to make the movie. You don't tell a producer how to do his/her job. If Hollywood wanted a hand in it, they would have had one of their own on the staff of producers.
DazJW
It depends, if someone fairly rich produces a film it's probably their own money. If it's a really small project, apparently dentists are the people to ask for financial help, or they used to be anyway (so says my Film Studies A-level..). But again Jagdraben is right, even if the producer is getting the money elsewhere they're the ones bringing it to the film. If you do something they don't like they'll remove their backing. MooCow
then why not include that in 28weeks later as it was such a crucial connection between the two?
wicaed
then why not include that in 28weeks later as it was such a crucial connection between the two? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More money, plus probably half the people that saw 28 weeks later never even knew there was a 28 days later, as 28 weeks later was #2 in the box office in america, Spiderman 3 being #1. Leadmill
Probably because no one ever read 28 Days Later: The aftermath, which bridges the gap. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I got it when it came out, its definatly worth a read, best graphic novel i've read for a while!
