Gooberz
I don't seem to see a trigger mech, what's going on with that? Edit: Sorry, to clarify I don't see any way to hit the trigger mech, how's that accomplished?
Jon L
patience this is a work in progress, just try and use your imagination as to where and how the trigger will be incorporated, then be amazed by the manner in which dobey manages to do it ;p
dobey
Some updates, the owner wants the grip mount to take standard M4 grips, this is not the grip going on the build, but a standard CA M4 grip for fitting purposes.
T0p Sp!N
I don't seem to see a trigger mech, what's going on with that? Edit: Sorry, to clarify I don't see any way to hit the trigger mech, how's that accomplished? I imagine a long trigger bar might be used. It'd probably have to work its way around the mag and be almost as long as the whole receiver.
Falcon_ASVV
As he's using a Tanaka the trigger weigth could be adjustet very light. Probably even light enough to make it work with a magnet and Radio Control. A little like the Gamma Claymore mine. Just an Idea if there are problems getting around the Mag. A long trigger bar would be more failsafe and so a better solutin for sure. But if not possible he should have neough space in the "Trigger Areas" for the transmitter and the receiver. darryl zero
Some updates, the owner wants the grip mount to take standard M4 grips, this is not the grip going on the build, but a standard CA M4 grip for fitting purposes. But he wants it to use AEG pistol grips? Why not go real steel grips? Nice work again, regardless.

7jl22sea
Very impressive project so far, I wish I had the machining skills to do something like that
dobey
UPDATES! This should be all done tomorrow, here is the lower receiver going together: The long bar and parts at the bottom are the pieces of the trigger: For a small gun there was a huge amount of machining required as you can see in these pics: The remote trigger and magazine release lever, if this isn't clear how it works just ask away: Shot of the magwell: The front trigger is connected to the rear trigger via that long bar in the background. You can see the notch it sits in here:
dobey
More of the lower receiver going together: The rest of it will be posted in the morning.
Ferrarilove1
Looks good, I can't wait for the rest. Now for two quick questions: How big is the magazine compared to a normal 30 round M16 mag? And how long is the inner barrel?
dobey
The gun itself is a stock Tanaka, I would say the mag is similar in size to an M14 mag. The inner barrel is as long as the outer barrel, I have not measured it but I am sure it is over 500mm.
T0p Sp!N
Very professional looking machining. The paint looks good too. :thumbs-up:

Gooberz
Great job! A bipod really adds to the look, though. It's almost disappointing this is bolt action, it looks like a bullpup M14.
Ferrarilove1
How big is it? I doesn't look like it can be much bigger than in MP5, and it sure doesn't look like an M14 . You have to remember this is based on a real steel so it's not his fault if you don't like the Bullpup design, but I agree with that it would look better with a bipod.
