happy.al
From the CTW Owners forum, Ladies and Gentlemen' date=' the wait is finally over......................I am very proud to announce that S-T-T-S, in conjunction with M.D.D. Developments, is launching a new Hop system for the Celcius CTW and Systema PTW weapons platforms. Our new Hop unit has been completely redesigned compared to the Hop chambers that are fitted in the current CTW and PTW. The new Hop unit will be both easier to set AND will improve consistent accuracy, an outline of which is as follows. Our new Hop unit (Patent Pending) holds the hop adjuster steady in two places which not only improves consistency with regards to the BB trajectory but also improves the overall range. This improvement is so good that we will GUARANTEE that when fitted to a Celcius 6.00mm Reformation II Barrel, the standard Celcius Training Weapon barrel, you will be able to hit a torso sized target (2ft. x 2ft) with a .25G BB at 60m before the BB’s start to spread* Our new unit also allows for the Hop to be set through the ejection port cover using your finger instead of via the hex screw which you have to adjust via the magazine well which is standard on both the CTW and PTW Platforms. This new system is both more convenient and quicker to adjust as the Hop can be set without the need to keep removing the magazine. Constructed entirely in the UK from CNC machine processes, the new Hop Kit will come complete with the following: • New Aluminium Hop Chamber • New Brass Hop Adjuster Ring • New Hop Adjuster Pins • New Barrel Key • New Steel Hop Adjuster • New Hop Roller Packing • New Pin for Roller Packing • New Chamber Packing • New Chamber Packing Base • Fitting Instructions We expect the first batch to be ready for sale in late July and will have an RRP of £74.99 (subject to possible change). I have sent pictures to CK for him to upload so that you can see how it will work but please note the colour may be slightly different on the final production subject to anodising It will be available exclusively in the UK from JD Airsoft in Cannock and Badger Tac in Oxfordshire. We are also inviting trade applications from dealers in other Countries so please contact me directly: info@s-t-t-s.co.uk for more information. *subject to your weapon being in good order with good air seals in the cylinder. Megalomaniac
24" x 24" is NOT TORSO sized!
uscmCorps
I've seen some 24" x 24" torsos out there.
SteevoLS
I just want to know if this takes buckings or if it uses the laughable Systema-style roller design.
ollie_ty
£75?! for a hop up chamber?! God bless C/PTW owners.
WhiteHawksan
I know! I'm still trying to work out where the 3x the number of parts are that makes it 3x as expensive... It's even Aluminium...
Kalashnikov_kid
Aye but if a regular AEG user will spend £30 on a new hop unit, bucking and nub on a £300 pound gun. Then surely someone who is willing to waste blow £1200 on a toy gun can squeeze to £75 for a hop to make said TOY a slightly better TOY. TTFN Dave
adadqgg
So...after all this time they still could not just clone a R-hop?
MrCK
It takes a enlarged rubber nub version of the PTW hop unit, not an aeg rubber. R-hops are possible for these, I have one, but they need to be made on a gun by gun basis, as each barrel is slightly different. I've got one of these hops in my CTW, and they are really good
TK4235
As a PTW owner this really is exciting news. Mine already shoots superbly and outranges all but sopmods and Scars. But we all know that the Marui EBBs have some of the best hops out there. This new hop unit just gives PTW/ CTW ones the ability to adjust a hop easily and have additional performance gains. And at 75 quid it's a no brainier in my opinion.
loki7491
If you own a CTW or PTW... this is the news you have been waiting for! Good afternoon. I am very pleased to announce that the S-T-T-S MDD Hop unit is ready to be shipped to the appointed dealers : a list can be found on our website http://www.celcius-ctw.co.uk The UK dealers (JD Airsoft & Badger Tac) will receive there deliveries late today (Friday the 24th August) and so will be available for collection from 09.00hrs on Saturday the 25th of August 2012. We (S-T-T-S) as a gesture of good will for the delay of a few weeks (which was outside our control as we have posted)' date=' have included with this first delivery (and this delivery only) an FCC Hop adjuster as a standard part combined with the MDD improved Hop Rubber so you have a choice of 2 hop rubbers. (The accuracy results that we claim are based on our S-T-T-S rubber). Once again please accept our apologises for the slight delay caused by the London 2012 Olympics and the increased security on imports, but the wait is now over. Please form an orderly queue when you go to collect Have a fantastic weekend everybody - STAND FAST............ FIGHT HARD.
blobface
Does the unit work for the mp5 ptw btw? Can't seem to find a straight answer, the reason why I'm asking is that I'm looking to buy an mp5 ptw soon, but there's little information about the compatibility issue, since I'm not a PTW owner, I don't know if the two share the same hop unit, would be good if someone could let me know so I'll arrange my kidney removal surgery soon, thanks. harborne blue
Is it just me but why should a very expensive PTW then need an aftermarket hop unit? Not sure I see the appeal - given that my buddies two CTWs have imploded on their first outings - and will stick with a G&P + ASCU!
SteevoLS
^ One could also ask why a very expensive PTW would need to be waterproofed, have the motor reworked, etc. Been there, done that, back to AEGs. What I would like to see is a PTW hopup unit that uses the standard AEG design so it would be easy to select your own barrels, buckings, and so on.
ChickenWatermelon
So how exactly does it work?
SteevoLS
Based on the initial post (FCC hopup adjuster, etc) I'm guessing it's just a normal PTW hopup chamber with a different material on the roller. That is to say... it probably still sucks.
