mig_eater
I've e-mailed about a release date and asking if they can do anything to get it ready before the VCR bill, and asked for a vague price, i'll post if i hear back Gearbox looks plastic but solid at least Cheers mig
commandercolt
i dont think in one go cos that would be slow! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sure that statement isn't referring to the ROF, just the amount of rounds they fired in an hour. Also, that pic looks verrrry promising. I too will be getting one if its $450 or below, but i'm a lil afraid that if it is that cheap, there'll be an abundance of em, which would slightly take away from the coolness factor of having an m249. Oh well.........
PlasticMag
But you could have two - THAT would equal coolness factor. That would equal being a sexual tyrannosaurus.
strategery
ya screw dual micro-uzis, M11s, or TMPs.. For that price, real men use Dual M249s
Gene
The thing i'm worried about is the gun snapping. we all know what happens to Tokyo Marui tabs....
Evil Knevil
jus dont beat it around the bush as much plus i don't think everyone is gonna get one as they're not to everyone's liking.
Screwschom
But you could have two - THAT would equal coolness factor. That would equal being a sexual tyrannosaurus. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ya only break that one out when your refering to M134a's!
ColSanders
Interesting, Looks almost PGC-esque. All the components of a real gearbox and luckily real gears, piston, etc. If After 5000 rounds thats the sized hole it makes I'm not seeing super great power. I'm also wondering why the gears are exposed towards the bottom if the motor is towards the rear... Alex "Col Sanders"
mig_eater
wheres everyone getting the extra info from? on the site I just get the basic picture ad, vid, and jpeg. I couldn't even find it on their japanese website Cheers Mig
commandercolt
You mean about the hole in the wood and the gearbox etc? Someone provided a link on page 2, takes a while to load but its interesting.

PlasticMag
What I wanna know is if metal gearboxes or replacement plastic gearboxes will be available.

Alex "Col Sanders" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The gears are exposed towards the bottom, simply because there isn't enough space in the minimi to do it otherwise. You would need specialised, smaller gears. Same thing with the PGC box. One of the gears stick out of the bottom of the gearbox, just a few millimeters.
PlasticMag
Interesting. Is there any provision to keep said gear free of ###### and dirt?
airsoftfreak14
The gun looks pretty impressive
Evil Knevil
anyone found out any more on release dates and prices? Plus i don't think all 5000 rounds were just fired at that single hole... i don't think my guns would do that to a piece of wood either.

You would need specialised, smaller gears. Same thing with the PGC box. They mentioned something about syncronization of the gearbox and box mag.

echotebarknwhale
if they sold seperate gearbox's for thier m249, then someone should put it in a TOP M249 and see how it fares
Kristoffer
Actually, it doesn't really say that the minimi body is made from plastic. The use of aluminium instead of steel, would greatly reduce the weight of the minimi. If you read the text on the promo pics, it says CONSTRUCTIVE METAL PARTS. I'm betting on it being Aluminium. The TOP minimi Para weight is 5.3 kg, and the STAR minimi para is 3.3 kg. Doesn't have to be plastic to be light. The synchronised mag is probably wound when you press the trigger, something many minimi users have converted their mags to do already. The button on the bottom of the boxmag is in a very unpractical place on the TOP boxmag.

Prometheus
Hopefully this gun is better than the ones currently out. All the M249s out right now simply suck due to lack of a real gearbox. ~P
commandercolt
what? the CA ones are *basically* out, and they use a normal aeg gearbox......
mig_eater
Krisstoffer, Go to the website and have a look at the Jpeg of the Gearbox, long story short it's see-through so my moneys on it being plastic unless they can do summit to metal i don't know about Cheers Mig
