Cam Keo SOC16
oh no....take cover....noob.... Â Anyways, Â Like that helmet posted above, how heavy and such are they? Paddded, etc? I have a real PASGT that my Dad used in the Marine Corps, but I didn't know how comfort and such was on the replicas.
[Apex]
SWAT replicas are very light, i have one which im currently working on. the padding needs replacing in my opintion, its too thin and isnt secured very well, plus its quite a loose fit on my head. the chinstrap needs replacing, as its not very adjustable for a good fit, to get mine to work, the chin saddle had to be at an angle and up one side of my chin, ive replaced it with a viper M88 3 point chin strap which i ripped out of my viper PASGT, but the IBH will have some MICH replacement pads and strap eventually. other than that, at the cost its great for a project helmet, comes with a NVG mount (not the best but NVG mount none the less), goggle retention straps, needs to be replaced with ones that have poppers on as you have to unscrew the bolt which has the retention and helmet strap on to secure your goggles to it, all you need then is a funky spray job and some velcro and youve got a helmet which looks the same as the toy solider one, at less than half the price! Cam Keo SOC16
Thanks man, sounds good. Â Where did you purchase yours from?
[Apex]
got mine from WGCShop whilst i was out in hong kong. its still USD$33 on their website, you just have to pay for postage obv.

Downtown_two
Apologies for the MySpace style picture but it's all I have of my headgear just now. Â
[Apex]
is that a sprey job or actual battle wear? what ever it is it looks good ive finally mounted a Wilcox style mount to my protec so just waiting to order in some decent goggle retention straps and velcro and that'll be set
Downtown_two
Its a bit of both. The chips and scratches are all real but the dirt and burn marks are artificial, bit of creativity with Kyrlon, some dirty rags and a toothbrush....Next week on Blue Peter. Doncommie
Awww what the hell, I went to supply captain to get Mich suspension and stuff but their checkout isn't secure
Downtown_two
They accept PayPal if I'm not mistaken. If they don't just go through their Ebay shop. I have a MICH strap from them, such a step up from the ###### you get on repro MICHs.
tangman
This came today.... Â Â Â It told me it felt bare, and thus it became... Â Â Â Â
Doncommie
You're right downtown, it's an option when you choose offline payment although they don't mention it before. I see the net look is kinda taking off I'm going to try doing a sort of tiger striped deal by ripping up tons of masking tape... we'll see how that goes.
Kiki-Jiki
Ok, I've got a question: Where can I get adhesive-backed velcro? I've tried going to local craft stores, but all they have are the 1" strips. Â I need some like 4" or 6" squares/rectangles so that I can attach my G&P replica strobe to the back of my MICH...and so that I can put patches on the side of my MICH. Â Are there any online places that will sell small amounts of it? Most places just have the 1" strips, or sell the 4" and 6" stuff by the 25-yard roll....and I'm not going to spend $300 on velcro. Â Thanks!
Kerbdog
Try Supplycaptain.com Edited January 15, 2008 by Kerbdog
Kiki-Jiki
Try Supplycaptain.com  They only have the 4" velcro in sew-on, and for my MICH I need adhesive....
millest
glue guns are your friends, failing that there are plenty of glues availible out there that stick the stuff on better then the adhesive on the back of the stick on velcro
