Guinness
These kits are made by a good friend of mine- here are some more pics and info about them. http://hellsknightsairsoft.com/smf/index.php?topic=45.0 These are quality conversions and its great that the guys at AEX are helping him get them to market! Also, we aren't Arnies, but we are a friendly lot, so feel free to contribute to the forums until our regularly scheduled Arnies is back in service!! -G
Donut
I wonder how much it is... If the price is ok I'll ditch my full metal M4 + madbull M470 plan
Belladonna
looks amazing, wish i could afford even the m14
david3558
It says on the link, $350 for a kit. ITs real steel parts.
bigphish038
Too bad it uses magazines =P
Guinness
It does use magazines, however it has to because after all its an M14, the mags are designed to fit as flush to the body as possible. -G
bohunt87
YES! i was planning on buying a TM M14 and doing exactly this to it, so this makes it a ton easier now. Now to save up for quiote a while...
Evert 72
Yea looks nice. I've always loved the M1.
clmwrx
I would have to see a picture of it with a magazine in first before I could think about buying it. Anyone find one? Maybe short magazines could be made like the ca870's have.
Catchv22
Did they keep the TM M14 receiver length (M14 fires 7.62mm NATO) or did they actually lengthen it, because the WWII Garand fired .30-06?
Kipper
well the 7.62 is the .308 and im sure the garand fired the .303 so i doubt there being much work needed
DrewLawson
If only I had an M14
Lance Jackass
Garand was 30-06, but most modern garands fire 7.62 because the calibre difference isn't huge.
UrPeaceKeeper
Garand was 30-06, but most modern garands fire 7.62 because the calibre difference isn't huge. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both, I believe you can obtain a real M1 or a real M14 in either .308 or 30-06... Springfield Armory would be best at telling us the truth The kit looks amazing although I feel that in order to be complete its not an M1 w/out the Ping at the end! This is a much better option then the new EBR stocks =)
dubomb31
Tht would be a dream come true to own. I wouldnt upgrade it, or even use it in the feild. Just put it on the wall and admire its beauty. Maybe take it down to shoot in the back yard. But nothing crazy with it.
bigphish038
.308 = (7.62x51) .30-06 = (7.62x63) so yes, they would need to lengthen the receiver. But they didn't...Because..well, who cares for realisticness when making an M1 Garand that uses Magazines.W00T.
DarkLite
well the 7.62 is the .308 and im sure the garand fired the .303 so i doubt there being much work needed <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wrong wrong and wrong. The 7.62mm NATO is NOT THE .308 WINCHESTER. It's similar, but not exactly the same. The Garand fired .30-06, not the .303, which was used by the British.
Kipper
The 7.62mm NATO is NOT THE .308 WINCHESTER. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so why do many many many places refer to it as the same round? http://www.optactical.com/si3magpo.html as a speedy example
DarkLite
so why do many many many places refer to it as the same round? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because many people are stupid. Proof: http://www.fulton-armory.com/308.htm http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=87590 http://www.surplusrifle.com/shooting2006/3...2nato/index.asp http://www.thegunzone.com/30cal.html
Kipper
LIEZ /ahem another thing that put me off was the following http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn13-e.htm the rifle of my choice and it says Caliber: .308 (7.62mm NATO)
DarkLite
LIEZ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Care to explain why? I have presented you with overwhelming and irrefutable evidence from several well known real steel websites and firearms experts. You, on the other hand, have posted a link to a site that sells pouches and another website which I will admit is generally accurate but is not maintained by a firearms expert. Kipper
I will admit that i am wrong, and that .308 and NATO 7.62 are not the same, i was just attempting to show why i was led to believe otherwise

Kudos for admitting it and not being an *albartroth*. It's a pretty common misconception, actually.
airsoftking123
is it possible that they will make mags that can sit almost flush with the reciver? because if it uses standard m14 mags the whole kit is a waste of time and will look freakin ridiculous.
