Hustie
I have a question about the burst. Since it's mechanical, what happens if you only fire say, two rounds? Will the rachet reset itself, or will the next burst only consist of one round?
Jorge14
the v.8 gearbox looks alot like a v2, maybe be modded for a M16 (M16A2 with burst would be amazing)

Will the rachet reset itself, or will the next burst only consist of one round? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Yes it will reset itself, I've been able too shoot both 1rd and 2rds (using 3rd burst and a little finger control) after that it will reset itself. mrblah
Shame about it not being STNMAG compatable. I shudder to think how many armalite owners rushed out to buy this thinking the initial outlay wouldn't be so bad because they can still use their armalite magazines. Good review. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Â actually u can, my initial review was wrong. U can use stanag mags, but they just sit weird.

evilliboba
The gun looks very nice! Now to find out which organs to sell on the Black Market so I can afford it.
Jagdraben
What fire modes do the katakana stand for? Which one's safe, which one's semi-, and which one's auto? (I gather that the '3' is the three-round burst. )
FriendlyFire!
Hey Caveman, seeing that you have the loadout going on, I just wanted to know what do the J.G.S.D.F. have for their secondary weapon? And nice loadout man!

(I gather that the '3' is the three-round burst. ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â The selector is counterclockwise, first safe, full auto, 3rd burst, and then semi-auto. I love the 3rd burst, and like what I posted on top I can now even shoot off 1rd or 2rds using the 3rd burst function. Edited July 22, 2006 by FriendlyFire!
Caveman /F-A/
Doh, you got the incomplete version  [ANZEN] Safety [RENPATSU] Full Auto ["SAN"] 3 burst. [TANPATSU] Semi-auto  Counterclockwise order  Hey Caveman, seeing that you have the loadout going on, I just wanted to know what do the J.G.S.D.F. have for their secondary weapon? And nice loadout man! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks dude I've seen a thread here somewhere taling about their sidearm, Sig P226 has been mentionned (aka "Minebea P9"), modified P220 Sig's in the JGSDF must be the regular sidearm: AKA "Shin Chuo Koggyo- Kenju 9mm" You may also see Sig P-230JP (Minebea manufacture too) but it's for police use  Althought it seems that they have their own national manufactured handgun i think, they also have their very own submachine gun that looks likes pretty much an IMI mini Uzi : "Minebea PM-9 Kikan-Tanjuy (submachine gun)" -2.8kg 600rpm-
Jagdraben
The Japanese SAT (Special Assault Team) uses MP5(j)s and Type-89s.

Jagdraben
Can the Type-89 take M9 bayonets?

phishphansj3151
Alright, I read the review and posts, but I'm still not sure about the STNMAGs...He said they fit, but do they feed well? Â If they do than I'm definetly buying this one.
orca
All these m16 type mags worked in my Type 89: Â http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/reviewpost/...2/cat/16/page/1 Â And M-7 and M-9 bayonets don't work. Different bayo lug on the Type 89. Edited July 28, 2006 by orca
Jagdraben
On the one hand, that's kinda disappointing and too bad. Â On the other, it's nice to know that the only thing I lost by buying the RK-103 is the free bipod.
Abelius
How is the metal quality on the body? Is it the same crappy pot metal every other TM gun has, or have they increased their quality on that aspect too?
phishphansj3151
Umm, the only other full metal gun Tokyo Mauri has released was the m14, and it was very nice...
Sig552
The m1a1 thompson has a metal body (if not, then i'm going crazy) and from what I can remember it was nice.
orca
yeah Japanese, more specifically Marui never used "pot metal" when they build stuff, if it's mfg'd in Japan. The Type 89 has a high quality die cast body. On par if not better then the M1A1 and M14 in quality. Â The body and the entire rifle is very rigid.
flipsnip
Visited AA in cannock on fri and held one of these. Very nice gun. Quite slimline conpared to a lot of other assault rifles. i would really like one but IMHO 320 quid is still a bit much for one. Ill wait until they come down a bit first. The small guide part under the bolt track has snapped in half and the tooth on the operating rod that keeps it in the track is gone. I guess I'll wait for a new upper reciever.  I cant wait to see one of these in person to see if it is indeed better!
