Blink43va
Hey guys, I have noticed recently alot of people that know what they are talking about when it comes to KSK issue stuff... so I was wondering if you could answer a few questions? 1. I need a realistic chest rig that the KSK would use be it a few years ago or presently. I have about $100-150 budget for a rig. The reason for this is that I just have a cheesy Flecktarn LBV that I bought just for a temporary fix. Could I carry a hydration bladder, ammo bags, speed loader, G36 and UMP mags and misc? Also is a PASGT helmet close to the look of the German kevlar helmet? I know I can buy a real German helmet from a website but I dont want something heavy and may just use a cheaper replica PASGT helmet and get a Fleck cover for it. Also could it be possible to find something that ships to the US or is in the US as I think that shipping a chest rig overseas could be quite costly! Thanks in advance! -Blink

They might be a bit over your budget, though. Also is a PASGT helmet close to the look of the German kevlar helmet? Yup. Also could it be possible to find something that ships to the US or is in the US as I think that shipping a chest rig overseas could be quite costly! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Flecktarn.co.uk ships to the US. ASMC.de also ships to the US.
Skarclaw
You could get some decent gear on that budget, but it wouldn't really be KSK at all, the tactical vest used is over 300 dollars on its own... There are plenty of decent chest rigs etc for fair prices, but I don't know it they will hold UMP mags. Thanks.
Ubar
also a pasgt is a bad match for the regular issue kevlar, and even worse for the special forces issue one. a fake MICH would be closer, but still not perfect.
Blink43va
Any retailers that sell stuff like Flecktarn.co.uk does... but in the U.S.?
Jagdraben
Not as far as I know. There are some that sell Flecktarn utilities and issue webbing sets... but none with ammo pouches, canteen pouches, &c.
Blink43va
Since I may or may not be getting the TT Ammo Chest Rig from flecktarn.co.uk could you post up a link to a US retailer that sells the issue webbing set? Thanks so much guys! In fact +1's around! -Blink
Jagdraben
Here from this thread. EDIT: It's actually Canadian... but they're practically our 51st to 63rd states....
Blink43va
Looks like I may just get the TT Ammo Chest rig... looks like imma be selling some of my collection to fund this and a G36 purchase! I need to feed the German temptation! Edit: Anywhere I can get the TT Ammo Rig in the U.S. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS! The shipping prices from overseas will kill meh
Jagdraben
Not AFAIK.
bboymax11@hotmail.com
Ive been searching High and low, your best bet is Ebay, I found my TT chest rig for $
Blink43va
Booo... I checked on ebay and I can't find one. I guess I will wait to see if I can find one!
Jaager
check out the specialist chest rig from tacgear.de, they do it in flecktarn: it would look kool over a flecktarn flack jacket price is 99euro, thats around £65 so in $ around $
Maple-Leaf
Forget Flecktarn.co.uk and ASMC.de By the time you convert £ into $ you'll be stuffed. And ASMC.de are a pain to deal with if anything's not right. Got to www.ranger-shop.de and www.recon-company.de I can highly recommend them both as having the best gear, good prices and very good service.
Jagdraben
But you need to have a passing, basic understanding of written German.
QuiN
The TacGear Specialist Chest Rig is nothing for a KSK-, even not for a usual german soldier-reenactment. I'd give you the advice to save your money for some additional month and buy something really issued, like the ksk-vest or an atxs chest rig. next year the ksk gets a new modular vest and rig from ctc-gruppe (tactical tailor). in opposite to maple-leaf, i cannot recommend recon or ranger. they have a lot of problems with the availability of gear (although they assured it's in-stock) and they sell cheap (china-)copys as original issued bundeswehr equipment. QuiN
doublepost. but here a pic from the new modular ksk-vest.
Blink43va
So CTC-Gruppe is a good site to buy stuff from? Modular vests are coming into their owns for Germany military then? EDIT: I found the link: http://ctc-gruppe.de/web/Katalog/tabid/113...25/Default.aspx How much will it cost? When will it come out!!??!! Thanks so much! -Blink
QuiN
Don't know. Nobody hasnt't ordered yet. First production starts in early 2007. The modular vests, i guess, are for KSK and DSO-only, not for the common soldiers. they still get the kts. this vest costs (stand-alone) 119,- and with some pouches you'll have to pay ~300-350,- euros. Maple-Leaf
in opposite to maple-leaf, i cannot recommend recon or ranger. they have a lot of problems with the availability of gear (although they assured it's in-stock) Every store has availability issues sometimes - I've never had a big problem with them in that regard. and they sell cheap (china-)copys as original issued bundeswehr equipment. Really?? Like what? I don't think I've seen any cheap import advertises as issue equipment by them. Recon Company have recently re-made their website too and now all the main navigation is in English. The CTC thing looks good - but I bet it will be expensive.
QuiN
Yes, every store has its availability problems but not in that way. i guess you havn't ordered there as often as we did the last years and every time it has been worse. now we only order at asmc, survivalequipment, multi-design and sierra313 (ex-khs). for example, both sold "original" bundeswehr pouches for the kts and it were cheap miltec-copies. ranger-online even sold copies from tasmanian tiger and khs as original. Blink43va
Thanks so much for the help QuiN! But 400+ USD will be too much for me. For now at least! I will however possibly buy something cheaper that the common soldier may be issued! Nonetheless you deserve a +1! EDIT: Im sorry its not that im lazy. But I have no idea what a German soldier that is not in an elite unit would be issued! Thanks in advance! -Blink
Jagdraben
Webbing set plus pouches. German flak vest. German k-pot. Possibly a smock.
bboymax11@hotmail.com
If you look on ebay again, look up military griffin, He is now stocking up on German Surplus, (Webbing, Helmet covers, Flak Jackets etc etc! )
QuiN
EDIT: Im sorry its not that im lazy. But I have no idea what a German soldier that is not in an elite unit would be issued! t-shirt, olive combat shirt, ft combat trouser, ft (with trouser elastic) trouser belt, olive (and/or braces) model 2000 boots field cap, ft (and/or kevlar helmet with reversible helmet cover) neck scarf, ft leather gloves, grey-black Webbing + 4x single mag pouch for G36, canteen pouch (with 3 piece canteen), abc pouch (there's a new one in flecktarn, slightly hard to find - with abc poncho, m65z abc mask and filter, decontermination set), general pouch and shovel pouch (with shovel of course). mess kit, esbit and cutlery set into the general pouch. Please no smock for a common soldier, they are usually not allowed to wear those stuff, cause it's not issued. mainly dso and ksk can freely chosse their gear. Get the flecktarn parka and a parka liner. flak jacket is no need. it's not worn as often as people think.
