uscmCorps
Seems a bit finicky to use.
Catman
The timing system works on the same principle as the old Deep Fire grenades: pressure leaks into a small secondary chamber, once the pressure in that chamber is high enough it causes the mechanism to fire. Only problem with that is the timing becomes subject to temperature. Set to zero seconds and these would be good for a tin-can type trap
Kai_Wolf
120 dB, what would that be compared to? Im guessing that is rather loud to the human ear in a small room?
n1ch0
they claim in the video that 120dB is about 0.22cal ... which isnt much heheheh
Johnny Sasaki
Depends on which side of the .22 you're on. A lot of the sound gets directed away from you while firing a gun simply because of the way firearms work. 120 dB is pretty loud. Comparison chart: http://www.gcaudio.com/resources/howtos/loudness.html
FearMeansControl
yeah, 120 db is quite loud for the record...

1st_shooter
120db is the same as a 12guage blank going off considering thats what were all used to thats pretty good.
pforcerecon
especially when its compared to a normal flashbang going off at 180 some decibles
kobuki91
despite the safety concerns, these look like they could be a lot of fun.
user7
i wonder what the sound is like when using duster or propane. it fills like a normal gbb mag so it should take it. maybe it will be quieter on weaker gas, since the test videos use co2.
n1ch0
Theres a post in ASC that state that madbull didnot recommend the use of other gases - other than CO2 (damn... 2x other ). @johnny... hehehe.. might be,... i did some firing with the 0.22cal in a ww2 kinda rifle and it doesnt cause much noise even recoils,.. could be cause of the directions of the sound. Reincarnation...
Lovely, makes me want to run a classic airsoft gun just to be more "contained" with my gear i.e. use my co2 tank for both my classic and the stun nade, just require a $90 adapter from madbull. My biggest concern is with sites and if they will allow it to be use widely. AI tornado nade I see easily allow because well bbs don't hurt or have long term damaging effects; where a stun nade too close may cause damage to hearing in a confined space unless there is a need for ear pro which then defeats the purpose. Seconded, as far as I'm aware 120db is roughly the level where permanent damage can occur
Skarclaw
Not quite sure I see the advantage of this over a dynatech.
TheEgo
The American market. I'm pretty sure they can't use pyrotechnics. (i.e like spectrum, TLSFX) and pretty sure they might be a legal issues with them using blank ammo aswell
Catman
It's a shame they can't use pyros over in America, would do wonders for the pyro market. Though I don't understand why there aren't blank firing grenades being used in the US - anyone able to enlighten me?
Rob15
Because the licence required to import BFGs to the US costs many thousands of dollars, add to that the US/UK exchange rate and they'd be paying probably about $200/$250 per BFG!!
doull76
Rob15 has nailed it on the head. To bring this in to the US, you need an importer's license for guns/ammo/destructive devices (Form 6 from the ATF). And with the crappy exchange rate currently, these would be quite expensive. Though once you got it in, finding reloads should be relatively easy since they aren't controlled by the ATF.
