Kai_Wolf
I recall a VSR or Marui Pistol bucking being used, but I may be wrong.
Raven1
@ slipknot1971 Â The only hop up design that can be used on the KJW Platform is the Proprietary KJW Hop Up Bucking. Â How Ever - The use of VSR-10 Inner Barrels are discussed on Page 3 in Post # 46 to Post # 50 Â I myself have not used a VSR-10 barrel in my gun,,, I am using a "Machined to Identical KJW Spec" MadBull Tight Bore Barrel and it performs, Well,,,like a MadBull Tight Bore,,,
WhiteHawksan
which is to say amazing?
t_hum
I would say they perform quite well. I have madbull barrels in ALL my guns from gas pistols, AEGs, to the GBBR.

t_hum
A 363mm inner barrel works best with the stock M4 length outer barrel. Â The extension goes in place of the stock carrier counterweight. Ive attached a poor quality cellphone pic below. It works by extending the length of the carrier so that the buffer transfers the load through the carrier and into the upper receiver instead of hitting the detent pin. Edited February 23, 2010 by t_hum
t_hum
It replaces the counterweight entirely and is held in place via a press fit (friction fit).

Raven1
@ slipknot1971 Â Regarding the Hop up buckings, I ordered 4 from KJWorks, you'll need to email Clare for a quote, cost was like $15 USD that included shipping.

sirrith
Well, after hours of holding down the D-ring, and pushing at the RIS fruitlessly, I got my dremel out, and made that darned D-boys RIS upper half fit. Â this is how she looks now: Â I'm not sure if its just my bad luck and I got a lemon, or if all dboys RIS systems are like this, but the front top bit that slots into the ring behind the front sight post had a corner that was too big, which prevented it from fitting. My advice is: don't buy dboys handguards for the KJ m4. Â Â
SwatMP5man
It's not just your D-Boys RIS that was like that, mine was too, i had to dremel the inside corner on one side to allow it to slide above the tabs on the plate behind the front site.
Speed=
I just got my KJW today and I have a DBoys RIS to fit with it. I'm having trouble getting the flash hider off. Right is loosy yes? either way it's ot working right no lol Edited February 24, 2010 by Speed=

better tip: buy a dremel with every Dboy's RIS This is airsoft; teflon tape, gaffa tape, lube and a file are everyday tools XD

sirrith
anyways sirrith!!!!....this is a BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....PS..i have a shemagh just like yours lol!!!!! Thanks  And I think he means $15 for all 4, in which case I think I'll order some myself.  @speed=: why do you need to take the flash hider off? Or are you trying to install more than just a RIS?  @swatmp5man: Ah.. thats good to know, at least it confirms that DBoys RIS systems don't fit this gun without mods!  @whitehawksan: Lol, it would be cheaper to just buy a G&P RIS But then I assume most every airsofter who buys a GBBR already has a dremel and some experience with tinkering.

Speed=
I read that. I don't have a hex screw on my flash hider. My gun is non-serialized. This plastic's tough, it bent one of my hex keys as I tried to twist it through the holes in the flash hider.
sirrith
Maybe its glued? Try boiling it for a while.
Speed=
Oh that sounds like fun haha. Â Anybody know if magpuls or ranger tabs work with these mags?
sirrith
How would you gas up the mag with ranger tabs fitted?  And I think they're too wide for either of those anyway  Is there any way to load the bbs aside from using the annoying loader that came with the gun?
WhiteHawksan
they might with a REALLY tight fit, but I doubt it, given they're much wider than STANAGs  But I was making Mag Pulls long before Magpul came aling, its called gaffa tape XD Edited February 25, 2010 by WhiteHawksan
Kai_Wolf
All of my mags have magpuls on them, the original rubber ones. They were a very tight fit but they work just fine. Also, I couldnt hex screw off the small little screw on the buffer tube to tighten it. The tube still rattles. I think they locktited it or something. DId anyone have an issue unscrewing theirs?
