It didn't have any of the characteristics of creatures that have been stoned to death, namely: 1. massive impact wounds 2. Bruising But it did have those associated with drowning: 1. Bloated torso/abdomen 2. Loss of hair due to decomposition Drowned. Hoax. Mewtwo died underwater and was found by some kids who couldn't tell a drowned sloth from a Mewtwo.
