Gooberz
I've been playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, and noticed the weird sleeves. They look like socks... What's the deal? I never played the first game, so does it appear in the first game as well? Is there some real-world equivalent?
spetsnazdave87
I have no idea whats going on in the BC games with the kit to be honest. I think most of it looks like sh*t, I presumed its supposed to be some kind of thermal layer since they fight in Alaska for a lot of it, but then they wear it in the jungle and in the desert too :s
DarkLite
Woolypully under a shirt with rolled up sleeves, most likely. Though one has to question why, especially in the desert or jungle.
Brick
Because they think it looks cool (shame really as it looks soooo wrong) would be my guess
m@tt-4576
Yeah, it must be a pullover with a blouse over top of it. The game developers were just too lazy to make a new model for the other environments.
rhino
if you play Resident Evil 3 (either Mercenaries mode or when you come across Nicholai) take note - Nicholai also seems to wear the same type of sleeving. I'm pretty sure i've seen it in another game as well but can't remember what it was at the mo... my 2 cents
DrKalinka
Looks like a NATO sweater to me...
AceOfSkulls
nicholai is wearing a turtle neck with some kind of protective jacket over the top. looks like that guy is wearing a jumper/ turtle neck. if it was just his sleeves, i would of said they where suppose to be kevlar sleeves. Which are designed to be fire retardant and cut resistant. i think its just one of those "myths" that has built up in games. Also its easier to model than skin or a proper kevlar sleeves / undershirt.
FallenGuard
Could be they were inspired by this? (SOD Gear Combat Shirt)
SuperJohn
Could be they were inspired by this? (SOD Gear Combat Shirt) Is that Comm-jacker, the military version of Fonejacker???
White_Rabbit
I think its just one big knitted gimp suit that also covers his head
Kousnik
perhaps its because its a computer game and 99% of the market don't give a *suitcase* about jumpers.
Mat
Maybe Mothercare are bringing out a range of tactical jumpers they paid for product placement.
ratboy44
How about this idea for achieveing the "effect" A pair of OD/tan Kilt hose or even a pair of combat socks cut to sit on the arm? would give that weave effect without burdening yourself with a full jumper
Gooberz
For the record, I was wondering what it was supposed to be, not trying to dress up like it.
