FireKnife
I shall PM the. 'FireKnife'
calbur20
Maybe do it in actual natural hardwood. Less problems without doing the cladding step and if I sponge on the wood stain it would probably do the same swirly effect. Next project is a simple Lage M11 conversion I'm doing for a friend. DO NOT LOOK IT UP! YOU WILL GO BLIND! Hey, it's not THAT bad.
renegadecow
Say's the man who wants me to build it. I will not soil my reputation by openly documenting that POS. I'll make it, I'll just not brag about it.
TnL
I just looked it up, Looks allright to me...
ninja master of coffee
RC, I think a vid of the XP100 in action is required, it is a thing of beauty.
renegadecow
Like a gun porn sort of vid? Because I've gotten scratches on it already since I skirmished with it last weekend. I'll be refinishing it eventually, but not any time soon. I can maybe do an in-game vid but I get overly conscious about framing that I end up doing badly and seldom get clean kills: why I only made just the one in-game vid with my cowboy guns for experimentation purposes and never even got to field (though completed) my 3rd person camera rig. ninja master of coffee
Well, a gun porn/ demo vid would be good but I totally undestand about wanting to get it back to new condition before that. Always a pleasure to watch your builds, they seem to cover all the bases of good airsoft custom work, interesting or unusual designs, very high standard of execution and they work properly! renegadecow
Started making the chest holster today along with a pancake one for my Mateba and may as well do one for my Detonics too. The red material is just foam rubber sheet that I use to make templates out of instead of paper.
Dr.Arnie
Dirty Harry, eat your heart out! Looks very nice but will it be comfortable shoulder bolstering a cannon? Or is it for *suitcases* and giggles? :-D
renegadecow
It's a chest holster. Wanted a shoulder holster at first but is way too big to cram under my armpit. Also chose to leave the scope uncovered as it shortens draw length.
Dr.Arnie
ahh i see, i look forward to seeing the finished article
renegadecow
Leather has been reconditioned (being fairly ancient). Outer stiffener layer is glued and cut. Will proceed to stitching next.
sandstorm
Is that an A3 size cutting surface? Sheesh, that holster is huge.
Kenworth W900
Good point, I challenge anyone to take a leaf of A3 sized paper and quick draw it from under their arm pit. I can see why this is a chest holster.
renegadecow
Sheesh, that holster is huge. Scabbard more like. Not counting the strappy bits I still need to cut out, it's about enough to make 2- 2 1/2 1911 holsters.
SabreMK42
Very impressed with your work as usual, well done, keep it up!
renegadecow
And keeping at it. Hand sewn. Not having a night life helps.
kenxin
And keeping at it. Hand sewn. Not having a night life helps. So, you know how to do metalwork, woodwork, leatherwork and plus know how to sew. Can you make me a scarf? On a serious note, AWESOME work.
renegadecow
Unfortunately, as much as I actually know how to knit, I only make scarves to give to the ladies.
Kenworth W900
Yeah, RC, do us all a favour - can you list some of your faults please? Just so we can confirm that the Gods have balanced it out in some way cus, at the moment, you're making the rest of look bad
renegadecow
I can't weld, for one thing. Irrational fear of high voltages (also vehemently detest capacitors) which is why I'll be trying a hand at those low temperature welding kits.
renegadecow
Stitching done and cut out all the strappy bits. Looking darker than usual at the moment due to being saturated in oil.
renegadecow
Done! Made a slight alteration: added a belt loop on the holster as the barrel kept smashing into my nuts.
Dr.Arnie
Awesome! I love why the belt loop was added! Lol. Any more plans for this project or is it completed?
renegadecow
I still need to get a turtle neck shirt, a faux mustache and maybe a perm or mullet wig. Also thinking of replicating the dog leg bolt handle, but that won't be anytime soon. And in hind sight, I may redo that belt loop with snap buttons as I made it a slip on type without thinking too much about it.
