bankz5152
Barrel lapping? on my phone, my spelling will suck
Lone_Bullet
Polishing the insides of the inner barrel. I never tried it. I dare not to do it myself because I'm afraid to leave marks and ruining a costly pdi barrel.
renegadecow
Afaic the best thing you can do to any barrel is to get a barrel lapping kit. Unless of course if said barrel has a coating on it like Madbull or KM.
bankz5152
It actually makes a difference? on my phone, my spelling will suck
DarkLite
If you do it right, yes. Though it's a long, arseache of a process.
bankz5152
What does it actually achieve?
Alias1983
Unparalleled smoothness, the kit can be used on several barrels so saving much cash. Edited January 20, 2016 by Alias1983
bankz5152
Which in turn does what to performance?
hitmanNo2
Those BBs fly out of the barrel so damn quietly ha ha. Seriously, slight accuracy improvement I believe.
Alias1983
When you buy a aftermarket barrel its because its smoother than a stock barrel. Less chances of imperfections, but when you lap the barrel you take the imperfections out.
CALLAHAN_88
I want one and send the body to an hydro dipping firm!Kryptek Typhon FTW!
Richard Y
Unfortunately a bit like the m870 in that the majority of parts are tide up in the gearbox. 35000 yen for the gearbox which is the best part of 206 quid factory price before any markups. Meaning there would have to be a lot of demand to warrant ordering 10 of those bad boys.. So don't break it haha
Wild_XIII
Which in turn does what to performance? From my experience, improved accuracy. I polished the inside of the barrel on my old G&G Scar, after that it was much more accurate. Pegged a guys middle finger as he stuck it over a barricade to tell me to give up shooting at him. It's pretty easy to do, but as said it's a bit of a bum time wise. I wasn't aware you could buy kits for it. I used T cut for the initial polishing and some Autoglym car wax stuff (I can't even remember what the hell it was!) for finishing it.
AG1212
Not sure if you've all seen this and it's new to me so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37bP_ZGWmBo and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3vbcGjMCbA

If you have a way to put the barrel on a lathe, that would be the way to go, so you hone the inner barrel evenly.
Scholesy
Just got mine this week and got a chance to use it today, only downside is it has typical marui plastic, but overall quality of engineering and the metalwork is great. What are people using for mag pouches on these? Redwolf has shown them in tacos but they look an agonisingly tight fit! Edited January 24, 2016 by Scholesy
hitmanNo2
Would be good to go in AK mag pouches I suspect.
Alias1983
HCM(?) tacos would work best, ak pouches should work.

For some reason, I was expecting this bad boy to have a lot more parts. Not saying that it doesn't have plenty already...

PureSilver
If you have a way to put the barrel on a lathe, that would be the way to go, so you hone the inner barrel evenly. That's polishing, not lapping, AFAIK. As per HS5's video, lapping is supposed to be done along the length of the barrel, so that you get a longitudinal finish, rather than around the circumference of the barrel.
