scorch
My internet speed has slowed down over the last couple of weeks. Getting 1.12Mb/s is an absolute joke when you're paying for 50Mb/s.
hitmanNo2
Just out of interest, you pay for 50Mb/s, but what do you find you normally get?
scorch
I was normally pulling 40-45. I was happy with that, as I understand it is "up to" 50.
hitmanNo2
That's not bad. I'm getting 47/13 on an up to to 73/19.5 service.
paranoiddroid
I really *fruitcage* hate being ill.... its horrible I don't sleep feel and have stomach pain.... which means the gas of the dammed and there isn't even the boy or a dog around to blame it on
DeltaZero
Don't you just love it when you spend an hour browsing the black friday sales, in my case on ehobby, adding things to your shopping basket as you go. Customer comes into store so leave it 5 minutes then the basket has reset and everything you had in there has off into oblivion.
Habakure
Hitman, door was unlocked for my Dad who had just popped out. Hence why I didn't react with a 'Get the *fruitcage* out of my house' when I heard the door open. Sore foot. Specifically the ball part of my heel (no idea what it is called). scorch
Gaaaah. Youtube and their stupid unskippable ads. All of which are invariably at a bajillion decibels while the video is dead quiet.

I don't game any more, but feel I need to play this. Badly. Also, at least you didn't buy way too much paint and end up with tons of it festering in the garage!
scorch
Mechwarrior 3 doesn't run on modern computers. F. M. Entire. L.
paranoiddroid
Can you run it in legacy mode and trick the machine into thinking it is an old version of windows? It's what I do with red alert. And I can't find anything clear about mechwarrior online roleplay.
scorch
Nope. Machine is too fast. Have dug out my old laptop, cleaned a bit up here and there and it runs a treat. Shame I have to run it with the cable plugged in and the battery removed. The battery is booked and heats up to the point it shuts down the machine.
shmook
Battery off eBay?
scorch
I'm not gonna be transporting this one around, so a new battery would be a waste of money. I have my shiny newer laptop for taking places.

scorch
Virtual machine? Sounds complicated. What's involved in that?
amateurstuntman
You can get software that you run on your computer that then pretends to be one or more computers with user settable specifications and their own windows installations. You can then run software "in a box". http://www.howtogeek.com/172768/why-old-programs-dont-run-on-modern-versions-of-windows-and-how-you-can-run-them-anyway/
DrAlexanderTobacco
I wouldn't recommend using a VM for gaming; RDP sessions (Especially on XP/Vista, which I'm assuming what MW3 needs), will result in a really choppy game. Scorch, is it bad that reading "FML" made me think "Vent coolant, switch to lasers group"?
Azubi
Why do people automatically assume you are a miserable *bramston pickle* if you don't celebrate Christmas? I don't celebrate Christmas because I am not a Christian. It's the same reason I don't celebrate Ramadan, because I am not a Muslim. Does that make me a miserable *bramston pickle* too? darkchild130
Nope, I've never celebrated it, and I'm perfectly happy. Darkchild
DrAlexanderTobacco
I celebrate it, in the sense that I celebrate getting ######, getting free stuff from relatives, and catching up with relatives. Edit: Oh, and the bank holidays
