Arnie
Yes.. this is why GPS and sat nav just can't be trusted. A friend sent me this via email: "A quality Routefinder - I'm sure you'll agree 1. Click here: http://mappoint.msn.com/DirectionsFind.aspx 2. Then change the "Address in" box to Norway 3. In the first "City" box enter: haugesund Now, 4. Change the End "Address In" box to Norway 5. In the "City" box enter: trondheim 6. Click "Get Directions" I believe it takes you on the scenic route." doc_newstead
Even if you specify 'shortest' rather than 'quickest, it insists you pop into Newcastle and catch the ferry back. Bizarre.

doc_newstead
I'm trying to figure out how that happened now. I don't know Norway too well, but I suspect it's because there would be a lot of ferrying going on down in the fjords, and the route-planner doesn't have them 'programmed' in. So it just sticks to the sea ferries and roads which it does know. I want somebody from Norway to tell me the proper route
Connery
OMFG! Microsfot am teh bestest company! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This map brought to you by the fine folks who gave you the X-Box!
destrukto
don't mess with the xbox... either Norway has a horrible infrastructure, a nuke went off somewhere, or somebody screwed up somewhere.. Look at this way.. it could be a whole lot worse.. we could all be using apple computers and playstations instead of windows and xbox...
Stoney
hahahhahahahahhaha that cracks me up crappy msn hahaha dumbass bill gates <{POST_SNAPBACK}> wow, what an incredibly enlightened post... someone has probably ######ed up and put in a distance or speed limit wrong or something like that and seeing as it is primarily marketed at Americans they probably didnt spend much time bug testing Norweigan routes besides, Norweigans dont need crappy online route planners anymore than we do, their maps are about as good as OS maps
