the best parts of airsoft

he's in the bushes!!!

Watching the Opfor try to flank a friendly squad from a distance, and then telling the friendly squad by radio to get into defensive positions and watch the Opfor get lit up, as they come towards what they think are unsuspecting easy targets facing the wrong way. I felt pretty awesome spotting that.

When you're playing capture the flag, and you're hiding in a bush, the last one defending the flag, with 15-20 enemies clustered around it, but you think there's like 4, then do a kamikazi run and end up only accidentally shooting two dead people who were watching. Can you say Fail? But it was fun.

Being able to experience a life or death situation where it feels like everything you do matters, without risking your life.

Appearing next to ones enemies at the moment they are:

A. Facing away from you.

B. Have there gun resting against them, not up and ready.

It happens loads of times in CQB.

Or in complete darkness, saying 'Over Here' in a whisper tone and watching people run away or turn in circles trying to hit you.

I have to much fun doing indoor airsoft.

Watching the wife creep up on a lad with a systema AEG giving my wife stick in the safe zone about her little JG Stubby Killer and "girls playing airsoft are no good" before she put three rounds rapid into him.

He may well have had the better AEG but he certainly had no field craft skills!

He certainly left that day with his tail between his legs :P:D

Cheers

Dear Lord what did I just start! :D

I am on the wife's side :P:D

Its ironic she used to moan about me buying stuff for airsoft and now she is beating me to the airsoft site and asking can we get this or that, I now have to remind her about paying bills, etc! ;)

Still its good to have a hobby you share.

Oh to stay on topic another good thing about airsoft:

The first time you use a M203, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh took me ages to get the grin off my face! :D

Cheers

Rich

1) Buying guns you always wanted as a kid from growing up watching Die hard, Under seige, Commando ect ect and being 23 your pearents cant say nothing!

2) Being nicknamed "The Armoury" by a new team who show up at your woodland site dressed in urban/stone camo, then proceding to take me hostage (as i play alone), taking my primary, secondary and my back-up Mac 11 and grenades off me, 3 of them pointing their guns at me with the leader in front of them, as they all look around to find my back-up i whip out the knife and stab them 3, then jumping up and taking out the leader with my PPks nicly tucked away in my CIRAS!

3) Playing with RyanH as he is our other Sniper, watching him lay down in his Ghille and 4 of us covering him in bluebells and other plants to the point where not even god could find him and letting him pick people off as they walk past

4) Oh and playing with Ell, i swear he must get tried of saying hit!

Yeah i do have a thing for carring lots of guns on me, hidden too, i always have a back-up pistol in my hydration pouch too lol, plus i always seem to lend them out during the game to mates who need them

we nicknamed that team "The Urbanators" too, there a good bunch and this was about 2 years ago and now they swear they can take me, but my new nickname is superflank!

only a few weeks ago my M16 had died on me and we were being pushed up far in the dorking fields i dumped my gun with Andy and ran down through the ferns and left and then back up to apear from behind the other team, then E-on (the marshall) turned round to me and said, "Jez aint you on the other team?" to which i replied "Hell yeah!" and drew my pistol and took out the 3 guys standing near him (The pistol was out) so i ran up next to this ohter kid, put my arm around him and shot him in the ribs (remembering i had no bb's in my gun so it was just effect) then knifing his mate who just froze as i ran at him..........only downfall is i got taken out by a n00b with a 2 tone gun, but i was being cheeky i guess!

I had a fun little moment on Sunday. I was leading the blue team and we were supposed to secure 3 locations and keep them safe from the red team. We had a lot of people, so I had 5 fire teams (the most I've ever had). One fire team covered each location, one patrolled, and one had just gotten back from completing a seperate objective. Anyway, we got some fire from the north east and when we pushed on that corner of the field, we discovered that it was a small force who retreated. I got a command over the radio from the admin to push my troops north toward the edge of the field because that is where the troops were supposedly inserting from. I got on the radio and told all of the fire team leaders to hold their positions and disregard the order from the admins. I told them to expect a flank from the far west, and plan for a full flank all the way to the south. I told my patrol fireteam to recon the north. I didn't see why I should be following the admin's orders, since I was the team leader, and I was running my own battlefield tactics.

Anyway, two minutes later, my second in command taps me on the shoulder with the admin behind him. He tells me, "I regret to inform you that you are being relieved of command and I'm going to have to escort you to the respawn. You are now under arrest."

It was hilarious. The admin thought it was funny. He couldn't believe that I had disregarded his order and told my troops not to follow it, so he thought it would be funny to arrest me.

Anyway, the reason for the order was apparently that we were too well fortified in our defense and he wanted to get the game going a little more. We were about to be flanked from the west and the south when the game ended, and like I thought, the attack from the north-east was a distraction manuver to keep us from covering the flank. But apparently being right isn't as important as following orders from the admins. :waggle:

Being arrested for insubordination and field demoted by an admin who thought it was funny as all hell was a great moment in airsoft.

Played a game recently in an old nuclear bunker, some team mates and I were tackling a corner, but were heavily back lit, so our shadows were thrown onto the opposite wall, so the opponents could see our every move. One of our guys is quite large so I got him to move so his shadow cast across the wall. I being a bit smaller crept up to the corner in his shadow and as my teammate cottoned on he started to move about, I was able to pop round the corner and surprise the bad guys! Next time I think I'll bring an umbrella.
