aznriptide859
Whatever one I linked to on the last page of this thread - I think it's the IV. I know for sure it's not the ZDP.
BigAl
Is the CRKT Desert Cruiser good as a general purpose knife? Thanks!  http://cgi.ebay.com/CRKT-Desert-Cruiser-Operation-Iraqi-Freedom-Knife-NEW-/230513757155?pt=Collectible_Knives  Should be, all CRKT's are good value workin knives. gunnermaniac
I have been looking at the below knife for a while, anyone know if it's any good?  http://www.toollogic.com/sl3.htm  Cheers
Danke
I have been looking at the below knife for a while, anyone know if it's any good?  http://www.toollogic.com/sl3.htm  Cheers  Do you know what kind of steel it is? I hate to say it but it really looks like a "jack of all trades master of none" kind of setup.
gunnermaniac
Do you know what kind of steel it is? I hate to say it but it really looks like a "jack of all trades master of none" kind of setup. Â Found some extra details elsewhere - "It features a smooth acion, one-hand opening blade with a loud emergency whistle. Its 3" stainless steel 50/50 serrated razor sharp blade makes cutting and sawing a snap." Â I know what you mean, I thought it could have been a low quality novelty item but when researched it seems (I'm no knife expert ) to be a good quality versatile knife. Â Cheers
aznriptide859
Got my Delica in - she is purty. Â Â Â Â <
alston251
Â Â Â Next knife: Spyderco Manix 2 Â By the way, does anyone know how to properly link images from Flikr onto here? I used to use photobucket but found Flikr to be much more user friendly. Edited September 4, 2010 by alston251
Moriquende
You should send that baby to Tom Krein for a regrind. Â My lastest purchases: Â Spyderco Urban & Ladybug H1 Â Â Â Â
alston251
You should send that baby to Tom Krein for a regrind. Â Â Why what's wrong with my Delica? It's still fairly new and i have yet to do abuse to it...
Moriquende
Not saying there's anything wrong with it. It's just that with that saber grind you've got a lot of untapped cutting power that wants to come out. Â Tom Krein can fix that. Edited September 4, 2010 by Moriquende
alston251
I think I'll stick with saber grind because I've heard people breaking the tips of their FFG Delica while prying stuff. I know your not supposed to but, but knowing me I'd probably do it someday. Saber grind's good enough for me now, i have yet to find something it cannot cut.
Moriquende
Alright, it was just a suggestion. Â If you ever decide to get the ZDP version you should definatly send it to Krein, though. The same goes for the H1 steel spydies. Â The results are... epic. alston251
I was thinking of getting a H1 knife as a "go anywhere" knife. Knowing the moisture in Hong Kong and UK my Delica would probably gather rust if i don't take care of it. Â But looking at the H1 knifes, i don't really like any of them. I like one that's about Delica sized and has Delica or G10 handles, i don't really like the look of those volcano grips. But I've never held them so i can't really be a fair judge. Â I wish they would just make a H1 Manix 2 with G10 handles, that would be perfect. Â Oh, by the way. Care to share his work? BrooklynBorn
Next knife: Spyderco Manix 2 Â By the way, does anyone know how to properly link images from Flikr onto here? I used to use photobucket but found Flikr to be much more user friendly. Near the Actions button, look for a Share This or similar button. Click, and you get links for HTML, BB Code (this forum) and direct links.
Moriquende
Sure. Here's a few (regrind) examples: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â He also makes custom knives for a living. aznriptide859
How much do these regrinds cost?
caaw
krein is no longer doing regrinds I've been doing a LOT of regrinds trying to get caught up on them. I'm CLOSE. I've decided that I will not be doing any more regrinds for a while. I'm short on time and I have decided to put the time I was spending on regrinds into my new line of developing folders. I hate this as much as those of you that love the regrinds. Hopefully it won't be permanent

Short Stack
Any suggestions for a 3"-3.5" bladed folder? assisted, too. Under $60. Like a carry knife, with serrations.
Moriquende
Take a look at Kershaws offerings. Â They make awesome knives with a lot of different blade and handle materials. Â Here's a version of the Leek for example: http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=KS1660CKTST Â Â Edit: Dammit. Now I want one for work. aznriptide859
Got an issue - as much as the Delica is lightweight, the knife's blade is kinda weak - some parts of it have chipped off a bit already
Moriquende
Is it the edge or largeish bits of the blade?
aznriptide859
The sharpened edge.
Moriquende
Probably just a case of a hard edge then. It can happen if the edge gets a bit hot when they sharpen it. Â Got these a few days ago. Â Â
