sekiryu
Basically, they've gone H&K on me ("you're not an operator, so you don't deserve to have these"). Thank you for your order with ESS. Unfortunately, the ICE eye shields are not sold for Airsoft sports. At this time your order will be canceled, and your card will be refunded in full. Our goggles are meant for use in military training and military action, where we are required to meet high impact standards to properly protect soldiers who have been trained in the use of our goggles. We don’t recommend private citizens using our product in sports such airsoft and paintball, as we don’t market to that sector of the community. These goggles are not designed for the activity of Airsoft and do not provide sufficient coverage for this activity. Thank you in advance for your understanding, as ESS wants our customers to be fully protected while using there products. "Do not provide sufficient coverage for this activity" my skinny white *albatross*! So, where else can I get ICE Eyeshields, with prescription inserts?
Trasher
It was a very wise move to *chaffinch*-chat about airsoft with ESS. Well done.
sekiryu
I'm guessing that was sarcasm
Samm
Yes you really should have seen that coming. What possible need did you have to be fully honest with them anyway?
Gliderrider
What is their URL?
FarEast
Im guessing this is a move to protect thier own Glutamous maximus's if you were to injure yourself while wearing thier products for playing as you might have sued them for false advertising. Welcome to the American legal system.
PlasticMag
Yeah, it's a CYA thing more than it is a "you're an airsofter lulz" - using products for unintended purposes gets people sued these days. Notice the phrase: These goggles are not designed for the activity of Airsoft and do not provide sufficient coverage for this activity.
Miah
I can see it. the ESS ICE are not full seal goggles, but glasses & it's quite possible that a bb could get past the lens. Many sites/groups do require full seal goggles & these just wouldn't qualify. Nothing "you're not an operator" about it, just *albartroth* covering as FarEast & others have mentioned. sekiryu
Yes you really should have seen that coming. What possible need did you have to be fully honest with them anyway? Perhaps the fact that they required me to disclose what they were going to be used for before processing the order?
mr eagle
Perhaps the fact that they required me to disclose what they were going to be used for before processing the order? Lie!
Gliderrider
And say what? What are they looking for, what can you tell em that wont lead to further questions?
sekiryu
I did include "sport shooting", but they completely overlooked that.
FarEast
Perhaps the fact that they required me to disclose what they were going to be used for before processing the order? Non-Lethal Ballistics training and simulation.
Samm
Perhaps the fact that they required me to disclose what they were going to be used for before processing the order? Yes you really should have seen that coming. If you can't think around stuff like this happening (glaringly obviously so), you don't deserve the goggles
Agent Hunk
Why don't you buy them from a store instead of factory direct?
Ealhmund27
Yeah...just get them at OpticsPlanet.com. It's probably cheaper anyways and they don't give a rip what you're going to use them for. Shop around.
Akapp
OP tactical has them under 50 as well... I paid 47 plus shipping and that was the best deal I could find. I believe they carry the Rx inserts you are looking for as well.
sekiryu
Optactical sounds good.
Azulsky
oh lol its okay, at least its a lesson you learned with glasses, not with anything else.
sekiryu
..........and what's the lesson? Always lie?
Shadowhawk
Yea, ranger joe's (a US store) carries them and the RX insert. But with RX inserts you have to go to your eye doctor to have your prescription filled. I have had some roomates when I was back in basic that had them and they were really nice. Make sure to read the directions though.
Amoki
That's to protect their arses, the ICE is not fully-sealed . IF you get their goggles they will probably sell it to you though.

Miah i use ICE 2.4s for skirmishing.... never had a problem... in cqb and urban... i detest goggles and masks for the visiblity restriction. I dont see a point really. Tbh you really shouldnt have blabberd about airsoft with them.... somewhat daft.... They DO sell to civilians as shooting glasses.... you just monged a bit thats all lesson learned eh? Massumma
..........and what's the lesson? Always lie? Stick it to 'the man.'
REVOA4
My turbofans came with a huge disclaimier "do not use for airsoft". ESS also advertises that their eyewear can stop a 12 gauge shotgun at 30 feet, pretty sure it can stop a plastic bb from a toy gun.
