kliskey
Ok, this isn't really that funny, but I'm a tad surprised that they answered it in the way they have. Its almost childish and quite satire.... I think it was on Arnies that someone posted a link to sign the petition, anyhow, I did, and this morning I received an update with a youtube link to the Gov's response The Petition Youtube Response
creepingfear
Blimey! The government actually has a sense of humour. Nice little video that.
GuzziHero
I nearly posted this up I thought it was pretty funny. I have a whole new respect for the govt's PR corps
Sturmjager
Well that's a shame, this might of made me want to be stationed in England when I join the military .

hitmanNo2
Yeah, are we all watching the same video ? I want my 55 seconds back.
Gliderrider
I thought it was going to be some dull white collar snob going off on one about telly presenters being the prime minister, and that was rather entertaining.
thewallhitme
no, no it wasnt. it said something along the lines of "we thought about it, but on second thoughts..." not what i call funny in the slightest
L4byr1nth
Maybe if he was elected P.M., he'd inject some common sense back into this country. Ben.
hitmanNo2
Common sense in the UK? Surely not? We need hundreds of over paid people to tell us what to do all the time.
Chimpy
Just a FYI you can embed YouTube videos into posts with these tags: Just wack the ID in between the tags (the bit after v=). Et voila:
GuzziHero
Common sense in the UK? Surely not? We need hundreds of over paid people to tell us what to do all the time. You just wasted another 110 seconds posting about it, twice
Skarclaw
Boring, and a waste of money. And that's just the PM. (zing) The video sucked.
-Drake-
You'd think they'd be to busy with you know "work" to respond to an (lol) online petition...
Triggerhappychappy
Interesting thing is, 58,000 more people want Jezza to run this country than who voted for Gordo to....
Chimpy
But then Prime Minister is an appointed rather than elected position so that comment makes no sense.
Jagdraben
No. It makes perfect sense. Because he was appointed, no one voted for him. And 58,000>0.
HaVoC
Could whoever was responsible for this waste of time not be moved to a department where they can work on bigger problems? Problems like, say, controlling immigration, reducing fuel duty, sorting out stamp duty on houses, wages for teachers/doctors/nurses/firefighters/etc, or even sorting out Iraq/Afghanistan? What a waste of time. Stop jerking us along, Brown, and start doing your job. And if you can't do that, call an election and let us choose someone who can.
Chimpy
No. It makes perfect sense. Because he was appointed, no one voted for him. And 58,000>0. *shakes fist*
Mikeiw
Meh... like they'd let Mr Clarkson loose in their records, nevermind put him in charge of things. He might upset the 6* nice little gravy trains they've got going to bleed the tapayers dry. That's all they need us tax payers for... to keep those things chugging along & expanding. On the subject of video, a waste of time, money & youtube storage space. I too want my 55 seconds back * Houses of Lords, Commons, Welsh, Scottish & N. Irish assembles, plus European parliament. Misfit
The video was made by one man during his lunch break. It didn't cost taxpayers anything. //Edit: Source: http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5h3...a4vP1XL4pAxNtLQ
Royal-Air-Force
Don't give a *fruitcage* if it took one sad-act an hour to make. Far as im concerned that was childish. New petition for everyone who watches that video to have their 55 seconds back.
