kmntol
Should we do a stickied thread solely about WW2-retailers? I figured that it would be something like this. The first post would contain the list, and people could report the stores, and i figured that maybe people could use that thread for the "where should i obtain <item X>?" -questions. Something like this: Name of the store: Location -additional info of the selection. Maybe if it specialises in german militaria for example - Has a WW1-equipment in stock -their reproduction of <item X> is of high quality - and so on.. How does the idea sound? Gadge
Its not a bad idea... Its just you have to be wary of recomending ###### or over priced vendors. Also some peoples opinions vary wildy. For example 'replicators' in India made me and several friends great sets of KD and jungle kit but some folk have had orders messed up or never arrive. Difficult to adjudicate i'd say. QQexDERA
Gadge has a god point. As an example, I wouldn't touch replicators with a bargepole after the total *suitcase* they sent me - and they didnt even bother returning my emails.
retrohead
Late war 3rd Division, 30th regiment, I company Need to fix quite a few things, but it's definitely further from where it started.
sage004
Started work on my ww2 kit(again),going to do Fallschirmjäger. I so far have only gotten a splinter helmet cover and an agm mp-40. I see that king arms makes some mid-caps for it but I have bad experience with king arms VN mags, can anyone tell me their opinions about them?
-Angel-
For some reason thier MP40 and Thompson magazines are great. I've heard a lot of people complaining about the ones for modern guns (particularly the armalite 20 & 30 rnd style) but it doesn't seem to have continued in thier WW2 stuff. sage004
So you have used them? What little info I could find about them said that you needed to mod them to fit and feed in the agm mp-40.
Yith
So you have used them? What little info I could find about them said that you needed to mod them to fit and feed in the agm mp-40. I use them with my MP40 and sten all the time. Yes I had to do a small mod to get them to fit in the MP40 properly, but after that they feed perfectly and have never jammed or misfed. BTW the mod was to the MP40, not to the mags.
sage004
yith what exactly did you have to do to the mp-40?

Gadge
LRDG impression as our group go to Peak Rail this weekend to show off being re-enactors *and* airsofters.
WildZero
Like i wrote at ww2airsoft.org.uk your LRDG Impression is very nice!!! What kind of pistol is it? Here is a pic of some of my stuff:
Gadge
its a real steel webley service revolver, i think its a Mkiv I honestly cant remember I bought it about eight years ago and it rarely sees the light of day!
Murdoc
Not a big thing, but that finished my long hesitation, what ww2 impression to do... (I found it at home, minimal tears, one button lost) I wrote to experts(US ww2 10th-mountain division reentractors). Beacuse it's damm similar to US WW2 ski parkas... (I think is post war-or West-German copy, but close enough for airsoft) I plan US arctic hat/M1 helmet(I not a big fan of it), and M1 Garand with use my experience in wood stocks+garand webbing. Murdoc
I'm an idiot, and damm lucky at the same time... It's not US.... it's german Gebirgsjager ski parka!!! My fater bought it in late 50', at that time I think there were no repros, so WW2, or direct post war but original!!! So... errr... MP44 or something that look like G43... Nicoli
It was hot at Ground Zero....I was not happy The only one of my group not in modern kit lol
WildZero
@Murdoc IF this is an original WW2 parka then i would not risk damaging/degrading it by using it for playing airsoft. Those parkas are worth quite a bit of money.
Murdoc
@WildZero Many forums and reentractor groups said, it's original... I was told by british reentractors, that it worth about £1100... My plan is to copy it at home, from cheap material...
WildZero
£1100 is a bit on the high side... The last one i saw sold for about half. Still a good idea to make a copy for playing airsoft
Murdoc
They said it: http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=2525&start=15 Depends on condition my one has no tears, one button, and one string from hoodie missing...
Murdoc
Do german mountain troops wear HBT in summer??? I think this parka is in summer color(no white side). Wool is teribly hot(maybe among the Appenines, or in Creta there was hot too).

kmntol
Does anyone know any resources for Naval clothes/gear? I've seen some Kriegsmarine stuff on sale, but American and British seems to be quite rare. I would guess that there are at least SOME naval re-enactors, but i'm presuming that for the gear, eBay is pretty much the only choice. This is what i managed to find: http://www.buzzricksons.com/index.php They do quite reproductions of Navy/Army/USMC gear too. The company is japanese but they have European and American store too. Don't know about the quality of the reproductions, but i'm assuming that since they're japanese, that they know their stuff.
