hwagan
It looks awesome - But CA really did an awful paintjob, unless it turns gold whenever it's photographed. What's the colour like in real life?
uscmCorps
The flash makes it look more gold than it is under normal lighting ... but they definitely made it more gold looking than they should have. CA really dropped the ball on this one.
Bloodsword
In natural light it would look abit better (why dont ppl take photos like this?), but it definetly is more golden than tan.
hwagan
That's an awful shame... Seems to me like CA were overly influenced by Gold EO's and Acog's and whatnot. Thankfully i prefer black to FDE anyway, so when i finally find one i won't have the same problem  While i'm on the subject, anyone know if a CA upper receiver will go easily onto a G&P lower? ThaFlash
Yeah but it's still a better color than the real one. The real one looks like it's been painted with with gold spray paint meant for patio furniture. The CA at least has a more tan-ish hue to it, more champagne than gold. hwagan
Blimey, so LWRC dropped the ball rather than CA? I can't comprehend for the life of me how a firearms manufacturer would chose to produce a shiney weapon! That's just insane.
kingdong
thats a pimp gun. all you need now is a fury coat and hat. And a pimp stick lol
hwagan
It'd be a pimp gun if it was a 1911 or something, but i swear pimps don't use T1's... I doubt they even know what VLTOR is. For that matter, i doubt many pimps could afford an M6A2...
uscmCorps
The color of the LWRC FDE rifles has changed over the course of their existence. The FDE used to be much more the FDE we've come to know and love than the odd tan/gold that it is now: Â
BigBabyMoses06
Better pics. Natural lighting with tons of snow to brighten the ###### out of it... No parts yet either...
hwagan
Looks much better in natural light... Still a little shiney though. Still, for a rifle that awesome looking, slight shineyness is no big deal =D
uscmCorps
I'd be tempted to hit that entire thing with a can of Earth Brown Alumhyde II.
hwagan
BUT THE TRAAAAAAAAAAAAADES!
BigBabyMoses06
Ill powder coat the SR5 FDE when I get it back next week Fair? Now some one trade me some Sordins for that *badgeress*!
uscmCorps
BUT THE TRAAAAAAAAAAAAADES! The loss of trades I can probably live with in this situation. You'd loose the trades on the upper receiver and the dot matrix on the right side of the mag well. Other than that, the rest are all stamped/engraved deeply enough to be okay after a painting. I'd use Alumahyde II Coyote on the receiver, and Alumahyde II Earth Brown on the rail. Though, at this point, I'd be more inclined to buy the black version of the M6A2 and just call it good. That particular FDE just isn't my taste. Edited February 17, 2010 by uscmCorps
reaper16
You can always dress it up in FDE anyway... Â I need an all black gun..but thats what the Sr15 is for.
hwagan
True that... Still, i know personally i'd rather have the black one - I know it's anal and all, but the trademarks make me feel somehow special and warm... I'd hate to paint over them I generally prefer black or OD over FDE/Tan, but i guess if CA have tried to imitate the real deal's paintjob it's a good bit of attention to detail. fiddlesticks4220
Yeah, IDK... I didnt mind the Bronze color. But then again, I did trade it to the guy above me... LOL
kojak
My WE with the new scope, Magpul FDE bits and Earth Brown paint: Â Â The Aluma-Hyde turned out nice; I might spray the receivers next. The HALO and T-1 are coming off and I'm either going to use a stubby suppressor or find a new outer barrel.
ThaFlash
New project teaser. WA GBB base with real steel upper. The barrel causes a gap between the barrel nut and upper but I don't care. Edited February 18, 2010 by ThaFlash
Mr Foxhound
Fully custom M4. Â Â Â Â
BigBabyMoses06
Nice! Whats the base? And what happened to the M14?!? Â Magpul parts came in today. mbuis is nice for a clone, ASAP plate looks like ######, and had to be dremeld to fit, but its nice, and the MS2 sling or whatever is nice, but i cant figure out what the spare loop in the material is for. Any one know? Â And this is what the body really looks like. Its quite nice. Not a fan of the T1s looks, but its nice to use. I think it ruins the look totally. hwagan
Blimey, that thing's pimped with everything except the kitchen sink! Â Â Oh, wait...
alston251
Do you mean the loop underneath your left arm if you're using it right handed? Â It's to quickly adjust the length of the sling, pull to front to tighten, pull back is loosen. It is used to let you swap between 1 point and 2 point configuration quickly.
