Cyclone TAW
I got into airsofting because I did play paintball before, and a collegue of mine kept telling me that I should give it a shot. Here we are now, roughly one year later, and she's declaring me mad because I have too many replica's lying around the house... Oh, and she says I'm nuts because I spend quite some money on my loadout, but that's just jealousy talking...
Colosseum
I did the usual route in the US... bought a spring pistol, shot each other, one day graduated to LPEGs, and it cascaded from there...
Ecthelion
I had the weird luck of renting an apartment about 10 minutes walk away from Akihabara, the megacenter of anime/porn/kiddie porn/cosplay/RC/card collecting/generally weird and sick fetishes/airsoft. I wandered around a bit and eventually found my way to airsoft that way.
rossism
My cousins got into it after it was legalised over here a few years ago. They eventually set up an airsoft magazine and after i had seen some of the pics in it i was dying to give it ago.
TheKausticKiwi
Me and some friends playing video games. >"Hey wouldn't it be cool if we could all get guns and fight each other?" >"yeah we can paintball!" >"But the guns don't look very real and it seems boring" A week later I heard an acquaintance of mine went to a local CQB field *at a time when i thought airsoft guns were limited to the little Walmart things* and I swore I'd have to give it a try. My first actual airsoft game was my 14th b-day I believe. I've been hooked ever since.

Maekl
When I was 11 me and my friends found a store where they sold some acm full plastic no-hopup springers, and ofc we bought them and went to a park to play with them There was probably like 15 of us, and I'm the only one still doing this from that group. We all were actually wearing (crappy) safety goggles, and no hits to the eye never happend. I still remember the day when in a game was sniping with my 3/4 scale ak47 with .12g bb's 25m away. That was so far away that I had to keep the gun on an angle. Man I wish I still had that gun D:
Sniper168
A friend showed me his Ares DSR-1, I didn't know a man could have "feelings" for a hunk of metal.
crotmate
Stood around a bonfire with a couple of friends who were talking about guns, I asked why they knew so much and they said, "Airsoft, its like paintball but better, come along and try it". Next weekend I was running round the woods with a hired AK and having a great laugh.
SoSwift
A friend of mine had been doing it for almost a year and finally I decided to come along and see what he was raving about it. I bought a gun after my first skirmish A couple months later and there are 9 of us with our own guns.
Mr. Blue
1999...Was shot on the knee by a buddy's younger brother at a pool party. He had a Clear Springer Desert Eagle. a month later, I spotted a cheap stick-mag fed NBB 1911 at my local Fry's Electronics. Bought it after pleading with parents, went over to buddy's house and proceeded to shoot buddy's little brother behind the knee. progress with springer mp5, backyard wars, aeg's, teams, John Lu events, then fell into a group with some crazy airsoft guns I have never seen before, and then I fell in love with classic engines. I now tinker more than I play, but the love is still there = )
cool-breeze87
I got some pistols for a couple of films I made and didn't even realise that they were used for shooting at each other in real lol. Few years later my girlfriend was finding something that could get me exercise and relief stress (I was stressing over a director who was being a total *changed to punt*). I went to my first skirmish, rented I was hooked. After 3 I bought a ICS M4A1 carbine and I love it. Already thinking of ways to tinker with it lol.

BIGBC
Went to Uni, ended up living next to a guy who was into it. Developed a fascination with his replicas and started reading up on them as a technical interest. Acquired a knackered TM AUG to fix up which went really well so he dragged me along to a local site and Ive been loving it ever since.
cool-breeze87
I heard that airsofting is becoming a fast growing sport. Can you imagine if the Olympics had an airsofting event. I would definitely tune in to watch that lol.

Aidan
I had been searching for a prop to go with a Boba Fett costume I'd been working many years ago, and stumbled across a cheap P99 springer with a plastic rail system and what amounted to a laser pointer with a "pressure pad" and 50 yellow .12s, and the rest is history. Sadly, I've since lost my hand made pvc Fett armor, save the store bought helmet. I was quite proud of that bit.
k30dxedle
My dad went to Japan in 2001 and brought home a remote-controlled tank that fired airsoft pellets. Its manufacturer? Tokyo Marui. Looked through the catalog and drooled over the CAR-15. Begged the parents to be able to forgo all other Christmas presents for a TM SG 552-2 a few years later, the CAR-15 having been discontinued in the meantime. Fast-forward to today and I'm looking into going to my first skirmish and loving G&P forever for their upcoming rendition of my nine-year dream - what I now know is a Colt Model 607.
