-Drake-
Wasn't there one pictured in some kind of promo material whenever they announced the Val/VSS ?
Katotaka
Ohhhhhh that's sexy......
FireKnife
Ok, simples question to the AK users out there. Are the G&G line of AKs any good for the price? 'FireKnife'
Bloodsword
The aeg-ak basic structure is simple and working since maruis plastic versions, so basically the g&g is ok, but isnt as good or refined as vfc, lct, e&l or cyma steel versions.
PureSilver
Depends on which G&G, too. Some (all?) of the newer ones have LCT bodies, which is a nice touch.
Bloodsword
Not only bodies, but the complete gun? Should be atleast aksu74u, akms and akm which are lct.
FireKnife
Well I am looking at the AKS-74U, personally my favourite design. However this is only a wishful purchase but it is the 'latest model' according to airsoft world and the quality does look good, have even held it in the store to see. Just now wondering what the FPS from one will be like........ 'FireKnife'
PureSilver
Not only bodies, but the complete gun? I'm under the impression that they still have G&G gearboxes and electrical systems. Some of them also have G&G's stupid proprietary QD batteries, too, so watch out for that FireKnife. Well I am looking at the AKS-74U, personally my favourite design. The GKS-74U is one of only a few RK-series guns that don't have the stupid battery foregrip I mentioned above. If you're going to buy a G&G Kalashnikov, it's not a bad buy at all. FireKnife
Ah yes I did see that battery system, similar to some of the MP5s G&G also have. Well as they have it and I get a 5% discount that is about £208 all in which doesn't sound too bad to me. 'FireKnife'
Bloodsword
AKS74U, its a solid performer. One could say, its the only AEG you`ll ever need
hiawatha
Got my lct today, but where's the 14 negative thread !? Im pretty sure it should be, right?? =P
Candydad
The LCTs have 24 threads right? Like the real gun...? Edited October 16, 2014 by Candydad
hiawatha
Yeah it sure looks like it Pretty damn sure i read 14mm on more than one place though!
Bloodsword
Family photo.. Top 4 are Lct, AKM is Cyma (quite nice and sturdy, steel version, not too far from the Lct feeling).
hiawatha
Awesome family! So you like the cyma yes? Any experience with the underfolder ? BTW does your lct have the 20 something barrelthread also ?
renegadecow
LCT or any of the more realistic makes (VFC, Dboys etc) have the 74s and 100s with two threads: the typical -14mm CCW and then a block over it that's for real steel threads which is what the muzzle device attaches to. Edited October 17, 2014 by renegadecow
Bloodsword
Aksu and 105 have the 22 or 24 mm thread (cant remember which), the AKM has normal 14 mm. So, if you want a silencer with 14 mm, you need an adapter, here is the first config I had with 105 and mini silencer:
Bloodsword
Awesome family! So you like the cyma yes? Any experience with the underfolder ? BTW does your lct have the 20 something barrelthread also ? Yeah the CYMA is nice, though this one has Lct top cover, rear stock and top hand guard. Shoots around 120 m/s and is pretty accurate OOTB. Only problem is that the wooden stock get wobbly after use, so you have to tighten the screws. That is one of the reasons why the polymer parts are better. Of course the wooden parts look pretty With underfolder you mean AKMS? Yeah, I owned before a LCT AKMS. It was otherwise nice, but the rear stock had a nasty play of almost 1 cm, which was one of the reasons why I got rid of it, plus the stock design itself isnt on par with the modern ones (even AKM). renegadecow
You mean you couldn't remove the thread adapter block already on the gun? It used to be that if removed, it would reveal 14mm CCW threads.
Bloodsword
No, its a solid block on both of my guns.
hiawatha
I read that even on real steel akms, the stock would have some nasty wobble. Renegade: my thread seems to be one piece together with sight/gas block. Will take a closer look later =)
Yuri
Bloodsword, how did you weather that AKS74U? Looks awesome, I might do something like that to my AKMS.
Bloodsword
It has been polished with a rag + "AUTOSOL: Kromglans", available at paikallinen Motonet.
sigma3
I read that even on real steel akms, the stock would have some nasty wobble. Renegade: my thread seems to be one piece together with sight/gas block. Will take a closer look later =) Yes, I had a real AKMS for a while. It's not a good stock design.
