kenxin
Jcheeseright Definitely contact bunny; seems Boomarms got them later and yet mine is arriving tomorrow for me. Wow that's fast. Did you order express shipping?
JCheeseright
just got a response back from Bunny Workshop, apparently they've been clearing their massive xmas backlog and it'll ship within 48 hours. Crisis averted!
Norotor
That's good Jcheeseright. Well, I received mine today and its all pretty nice except I gotta say the black markings are a little sloppy.. Like the "SAI" on the top side of the slide, it looks laser etched and then covered in black paint, but the black paint missed some tiny spots, so it appears as grey spot-freckles. The smaller black markings, like the "salient arms international" roll mark use much smaller font, so I don't really see any grey spots. I can put up some photos tomorrow morning. JCheeseright
Good times, how's the finish on the metal itself? The ace1 arms one apparently isn't brilliant, with this one being machined obviously I expect it'll be better.
Norotor
Good times, how's the finish on the metal itself? The ace1 arms one apparently isn't brilliant, with this one being machined obviously I expect it'll be better. The metal fit and finish is really good, didn't have to modify anything on the slide at all. All the extra parts that came with the slide had great fitment as well. The cerakote looks nice, but time will tell if they applied it correctly. One problem was the china clone rmr that I bought with the slide set; could not get it to fit at all.. that's not really Guns Modify's fault, i would blame the clone quality control. They guarantee fitment for the real Trijicon rmr, and a test fit of my real rmr confirmed that. I actually had to use a dremel and bore out the screw holes on the clone RMR to fit the slide. Hopefully you guys have more luck and get a clone that has better tolerances. I'd say the only real problem is the black trademarks that I mentioned earlier. I don't know how I didn't see it earlier but the "salient arms international" roll mark is pretty bad as well. I may have to remove the black paint from the etchings and leave it bare metal. Overall I'd say collectors would be disappointed by the black trademarks, can't think of any other negatives though. I myself don't mind, mine will get dinged up going to run this hard. toto0321
I got this one too and it is awesome!
JCheeseright
Glad it fits a real RMR, guns modify we're very specific in stating that it does, but I never really trust that sort of thing until someone unrelated to the manufacturer fits it.
IronWolf
Any feedback on how the RMR's are holding up? Any loss of zero, or loose battery connections from the slides recoil?
kenxin
Good times, how's the finish on the metal itself? The ace1 arms one apparently isn't brilliant, with this one being machined obviously I expect it'll be better. The metal of the gunsmodify is the aluminum 6065 or 6061 I can never remember. The ace one is supposedly that as well. The ace 1 is also fully machined, however there are tons of imperfections on the finish. Did it come WITH the set? because those bundled with it should have no problem fitting. If not, why did you get it separately?
Danke
The Guns Modify never included the RMR sight. After this one launched there was a little spate of similar slides and some did include the sight, and I think some re-sellers may have bundled one into their package. Updatged link below with details. http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=special&item=GMF-SAI-G17F-GDR&search=special&rs=New%20Release&catid=&cat=

Danke
Wow, steep price for that bundle. Carry on I'd rather buy seperately.
kenxin
A bit of edit on that, I seem to have linked the version with the tritium sights, the bundles with regular sights are cheaper. Check the sites
JCheeseright
shipped yesterday!so excited.
kenxin
Well, Gunsmodify posted a picture for all of those who're still waiting on the black version. And everyone else really... https://www.facebook.com/notes/guns-modify/hands-up-i-want-your-moneyagain-update-for-the-slides/527079900732380 They're apparently doing a re-run of their original g17/g18 slides (which were of good quality and came with tritium sights at a very reasonable price). Also: - Black model - Red back one - SAI G34 with and without RMR. - SAI 17 Costa version for the WE G17 (not in the picture) For those that are curious as to what the red back one looks like: Norotor, how's the finish on your slide holding up? Hanger
Installation is posted on their facebook in case you don't know how https://www.facebook.com/notes/guns-modify/install-manual-for-costa-rmr-temp-version-because-web-site-down-f/523190447787992
Danke
Mine's here. That shading on the SAI mark seems deliberate.
JCheeseright
mine's "awaiting inspection by customs". they'd better hurry up and inspect it fast!
hayabusa46
This is just a mind blowing kit, the amount of the parts u get for that amount of money is just... wow Here is a good video from one of my subscribers, the guy is really good on Glocks and with pistols in general. Here are hes points of view regarding the kit, also he has videos for ACE1 and Airsoft Surgeon SAI slides. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=megXnmhIYoA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIlaYSMqddA And the problem he encounter on trigger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPomqo86IiQ
JCheeseright
customs duty paid, delivery tomorrow. so excited, much rmr slide, wow.
JCheeseright
Needless to say, no work was done today. the slide came bundled with a half decent replica of a Trijicon RM06 but I already had a real RM01 that I'd picked up for this project, thankfully it was a 100% drop in fit! Nice crisp dot, seems to auto adjust it's brightness pretty well too, though it's not instant which is strange Bunny Workshop must've screwed up too, because they sent me the tritium night sights which I hadn't ordered, glad they did though because they look great Got a guarder frame on the way as the front screw on the Marui frame was cracked a bit and is held together with araldite and good intentions at the moment. Absolutely no issues with installation whatsoever. Was a little rough for the first 10-15 times I racked the slide but it's smooth as butter now.
