Paintchip
Well if spring isent good is the G18 the only semi/auto non gas pistol.
elrey
The best springer you could get would probably be the KWC Desert Eagle Ultra-Grade .50. That thing is supposedly one of the best springers around. But really, gas guns are too awesome to miss out on. Forget your bad paintball experience and move on. You won't regret it. Really. Night_raven
Gas guns are good, but if you fill em properly they can last you a good game and a half. i prefer to use a GBB desert eagle (black as standard) that gives a good kick to it all. Night_raven
hhsohn
Chip, have you actually seen or handled any GBB? It might be a good idea to not eliminate any class of airsoft based on a presumption. Most GBB's are quite easy to manage, except for the low-end cheap stuff. If the cost is a concern, you might want to look into Non-Blow Backs. Much higher gas economy, nicely powerful, fool-proof, and usually cheaper than GBB's. It's not well known, but TM makes decent NBB's for cheap.
Mister Big Shot
Also you might consider a gas revolver.
dirty mao
gas really isn't an issue. OK, green gas costs like 15 bucks a can (USD), but you can get an airsoft inovation propane adaptor that lets you fill your mags from propane bottles (propane and green gas are almost identical). is costs $30, but you only have to buy it once, and it's like $4 to refill a propane bottle, and a filled bottle lasts longer than a can of green. also, if you want something that's easy as chips to take care of, look at gas non-blowbacks. more power, cheaper, and easier to maintain than GBBs. the TM Mk 23 NBB is a popular choice, as is the UHC USP. whiplash
if your against gas but want a sidearm. may i suggest an MP5K? i know its a little unconventional but its ony a little bigger than a pistol
Paintchip
The gas just dosen't seem to be my thing. I also like mag loading clips and not hopper although there might be some gas like that.
elrey
Damn, thats what i was afraid of. I just don't want to have to deal with gas and i like mag loading guns and not hopper ones I also like mag loading clips and not hopper although there might be some gas like that. By hopper you mean like a gravity fed thing on top, like those used in paintball? 99% of gas guns use mags, not hoppers. Unless you're talking about something else, but based on your paintball experience I doubt it. w00t
airsoftfreak14
Why don't you get a propane adaptor? The propane is like $3 to the $10 of gas and you don't have to waste more money on shipping
squirrelsrage
I carry a g 18 c eap non blow back and I love it. I never have any problems and the battery take maybe a hour to charge. a friend turned me on to it and it is the bomb so to speak. I can't say enough good things about this pistol. Good luck with your choice.......
Paintchip
That was one i was looking at but i hear its not to quiet so if i want a quiet kill it looks like im going rambo instead.
sp00n
if your against gas but want a sidearm. may i suggest an MP5K? i know its a little unconventional but its ony a little bigger than a pistol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If by a little you mean 3 to 5 times bigger, then yes. An MP5K is not a very practical sidearm.
Paintchip
Yeah it would be bulky to carry compared to a pistol, so i will stick with a pistol for a side arm.
Robot 2000
TBH you'll probably have the most fun with a gas gun, and that's what this is all about isn't it? You'll get used to using the pistol with gas very quickly (I know I have) and they're suprisingly low-maintenance bits of kit. Commonly recommended gas guns are the TM Hi-Capa, the KWA G19 and the KSC USP Compact. I have the Compact and it's a very nice, reliable and most of all FUN little gun to shoot
The n00b wh0 pwns
i own a nbb and its great but how about a Smith and Wesson C02 pistol?
Messiah
get a GBB!! theres nothing like the heavy clank of of a slide locking back, and then the slow realisation that your out of ammo and need to reload! get a KSC USP compact. they are uber.
scithe
the sp2009/2340 is also pretty sweet.
elrey
Guys, he doesn't want a gbb. Talk about something else now. He won't give in.
PlasticMag
How 'bout an EBB? ###### power, ###### accuracy, ###### everything! Perfect for a cheap, non-gas sidearm! Basically: if it's not a gas sidearm and it's not an AEP, it's gonna suck.
dirty mao
i think this guy really needs to see that gas in airsoft is a world different from gas in paintball.
DrJackal
I'm going to have to agree with everyone else if you want a sidearm... buy gas. Now if you really don't want a gas pistol, just buy more mags and batteries. Rarely will your AEG actually malfunction in the middle of a game. More often then not you'll run out of juice, ammo or just feel like using a pistol. That being said I really would suggest a GBB or NBB. It seems you are mistaken as to how they work, you actually load the gas AND bb's (no hopper) into the magazine and your ready to go.
Robot 2000
indeed. Also, you're unlikely to find a decent non-gas sidearm (i.e. the AEP) for under $100. You might JUST squeeze a second hand gas gun out of that
jay bee
Im going for a TM EBB 92F myself
